Gen5 Whipple stage1. I intended to do the crank relearn due to ramdom misfire codes. Suddenly the tomahawk was erasing amd reloading!!! When it finished there were fewer menu selections in the small window between tach & speedo. The afr does not seem to be acting right. What did i do?

does the car still run? if so take it to your tuner let him straighten it out...curious what tuning device did you use for the relearn.

The Whipple tool does the crank relearn. If it were mine, I would attempt a clean reflash with the tomahawk.

I was trying to do the crank relearn using the whipple tomahawk and it appeared to do a clean reflash. It does run, the AFR just seems different that before. I obviously hit the wrong selection and when I tried to back it out, it started erasing then reflash. Side not, the menu selections in the small screen are back (Track Apps & stuff)

Call whipple, see what the recommend?

That’s what I would do first.

If you are absolutely set on trying something before calling them, reload the original file they sent you with the kit following their instructions.

I intend to. I work nights and since Whipple is on the west coast they weren't even open when I got home this morning. I am planning to get the stage 2 upgrade and get PBD or Lund tune but was hoping to catch a labor day sale on the stage 2 parts. I am assuming that the file in the tomahawk was the original Whipple tune but I was worried that I had somehow loaded the stock tune... Gotta go to work...

Did you install yourself or have a shop install? If you installed yourself you should be able to check the file extension that’s in the tomahawk vs what the sent you. Just pop the SD card into your computer and verify file name that’s on it compared to what they sent you.

Get a custom tune
I second that lol. But it should simply just need a reflash back to stock and reload the tune. You haven't done anything to it that wasn't already done to it prior to doing the crank relearn.

I'm pretty sure it loaded the whipple tune. I fully intend to get a custom tune, just waiting for a sale on stage 2 upgrade parts. :)
(I only started with stage 1 because I had planned to get the warranty but whipple will no longer sell them. >:( )

Had it installed with the intention of buying the warranty. Whipple told me after installation that they no longer offer the warranty.
So I only have what is in the tomahawk.

OK, I feel better now. Checked the SD card and there is only one tune file on there. I was also able to do the crank profile relearn so I think everything seems fine. Can't wait to get the stage2 upgrade and PBD or Lund tune...
