Hi all,
New here and just looking into getting a new car. I have been going between a Bullitt and a GT premium with pp2. Looking for any opinions for or against either.

Bullitt is a PP1, so you're comparing apples with oranges :D. The Mach1 will be a PP2, or actually a PP2+, since it has improvements not included with PP2. The Bullitt doesn't have anything more or less than a PP1 as far as I know, except an unrelated (to handling) 20 extra HP. Mine has MagneRide, but it's optional.

Thanks for the replies. Basically i have it down to 3 options

1st 2019 Mustang Gt Performance Pack Level 2. Completely stock except MBRP X-pipe and Michelin Sport 4S tires (Cup 2 tires have been removed so this car can be daily driven) Recaro seats, B&O sound system, active exhaust etc
This vehicle is an employee lease at employee pricing I want $2000 and take over the payments of $697/month including tax final payment due on August 19th 2023 with an option to purchase of $22059 plus tax. Or buy out for $45k

2nd. 2020 same options except no recaro seats

cash would be 53,225 plus fees and tax which is 60,418.
lease or finance it the best price would be 54,350
At 6o months the payment is 478 bi weekly with 0 down at 0%
At 72 months the payment is 410 bi weekly at 1.99%

lease the selling price remains at 54,350
The 48 month lease with 16,000km per year is 385 bi weekly including tax at 1.99%

3rd Bullitt with similar pricing to the 2020

Any thoughts appreciated

Coming from the lower 48 I will not comment on pricing but I do have a question. Why the Bullitt? Is it the history/movie, Steve McQueen cool, or just the green color? Once you have decided why you are considering a Bullitt making the decision will be easier. If I could drive a stick my answer would be the Bullitt. It's special, for me. The PP2 is just another GT.

"Just another GT", Bikeman? And I suppose your mother was "just a mother".

5 bonus points to anyone who gets the reference. And if you do, damn, you're old. ;)

I got a Bullitt, put on the Ford Performance Magneride handling kit, and then put 9.5in wide all around.

Other than perhaps a tweaked ABS, not much of a difference. You can always add the splitter and spoiler later if you want to.

I got the color I wanted, style I wanted, and handling I wanted.

Yes, I get it and yes I’m old. But you missed my point. I’m not dissing the PP2. It’s a great package. Buts that’s what it is, a package. It takes the standard GT to another level. The Bullitt is a special edition. If there isn’t a specific reason for wanting a Bullitt then I believe the PP2 would be the better option.

What is the FPM and can it be put on after purchase?

It is package of slightly stiffer / lower springs, both sway bars and Magnaride calibration (that most people think is the one straight of PP2) and it is meant to be put on after purchase. Search the forum - there is a thread about it.

As to your question - Bullit is also nothing more than another GT, less capable than PP2 but with some cosmetic stuff that others like. Choose between capability and specific looks / sentimental value of Bullit. Both are great cars and they're not that much different.

Kz has a good description of it above. It does require that the car come from the factory with MagneRide.

you shouldn't be paying sticker for anything. Now maybe with inventory so low in your area the demand is too high to warrant 10-15% discounts on new cars...
