Saw this on Ebay after looking for some Castrol srf for a bleed that is due before next track day...shame on BMA parts in Glendale CA for either being ignorant, which I doubt or just plain greedy as f for a hard to get fluid at the moment, good for a laugh at least thanks.

Who can refuse? Hey buy the warranty and submit a claim for spilling it out of the bottle and get your money back lol I saw a few things priced on eBay this week for $999 that normally cost $20 or less. Hopefully, it's just something wrong with the pricing algorithm.

I've also seen Ebay stores do this when they're out of stock on items. They'll put an outrageous price on it, knowing no one will purchase it, and it keeps them from having to pull the listing until they can get new stock (when they drop the price back down to a "normal" level.)

That seems to me like a reasonable explanation. The seller might also want to keep their offer conveniently in the arena, but can't or don't want to do the deal in today's icky world.

No, its just easier to change the price then to have to completely relist it with every detail.

except re-listing is as trivial as taking your old listing and hitting 'next' like 3 times. But by far every merchant uses some 3rd party listing tool and that is probably been coded to do the 999 thing
