Found what you were referring to. You mean modded GT500 vs modded old M5. I was talking stock vs stock on a prepped strip. Mexico racing means nothing to me. Anyone with an open wallet can mod to their hearts desire. No offense those are some impressive numbers your tuners are churning out. Just curious to see stock vs stock.

Look what the 500 release has done to 350R prices. Looks like MSRP less 5k is happening more than once out there. If I was in the market for a hell of a mustang I'd start there for sure. Gt500 prices will go no where for quite some time.
There is a dealer close to me that has 5 or 6 2019 350s and just as many 2020s. The best they were willing to do was 2K off a 2019. That just isn't enough at this point for me. 63k for the 350 when I can get a Grand Sport for 56-59k depending on the trim just isnt happening. If they could get it down to similar pricing I'd be interested. Hopefully this trend will continue.

Expand your search and join the GT350 owners group on Facebook. I have seen lots of $5-8K off 2019 350's posted. I was quoted between $5-6K off MSRP a few months ago in New England area and I bet you can get it even cheaper now as most of those cars are still available. Even if you paid $1K to ship it back to you, if you can save $7-8K off MSRP it's worth it.

Same with Grand Sports. Look into MacMulkin. They have tons of them and no dealer fees with some of the best discounts in the country.

If you buy a Grand Sport and are planning to track it, budget for replacement wheels.

You have to budget for replacement wheels regardless if you track it or not. They crack and bend on just normal roads and GM will not replace them. I believe the OEM wheels are on backorder and some people have been waiting months to drive their car. I would just get a good set of forged wheels and budget $5-7K.

I've seen lots of complaints but I didn't realize it was that bad. Thanks for the info.

I would have a dedicated set of forged wheels and track tires. Funny that the SS 1LE comes with forged wheels and the vettes don't.

But yes, known issue that I've read about. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that group.

Yes, last time I looked at Macmulkin they still had 27 grand sports... just in manual. Advertised discounts ar Criswell and Macmulkin were around 18-20% off last month. Hell, you could get a Z06 for under 70k.

Yes, there have been hundreds of owners impacted with some cars having all four wheels either bent or cracked. The wide cheaper wheels with low profile run flat tires are not a good combo :)

If you go into it knowing about the problem and budgeting for it, it helps :)

Yeah some great deals on GT350's and C7's right now. Good luck, can't go wrong with either but they are very different cars. I owned a C7/Z51/magride that I tracked and had a blast with that car. Have not tracked the GT350 yet due to winter but I am really looking forward to it.

For sure. I've always been interested in a 350, but just couldn't get past the pricing. I have a serious problem paying MSRP (or more) for any vehicle. Even if I had money to blow there is just something about that which really bugs me... so, happy to see that the prices are coming around.

I always budget for at least one extra set for the weather (I'll end up actually having three different sets for the ZLE). Dry/wet track set up so you don't have to cancel for weather only having a Cup2/SC3R etc like setup. It would suck though that you couldn't even count on the OEM wheels for DD use.
