Planning on doing the hood vents? I'm waiting on my Roush rear valance... was looking at the front end but sounds like it was a pig to install. Might look at alternatives but I do like the look of it. Great Job so far.

I’ve sent my hood vents off to get them flatted then painted gloss black. Seems strange having Matt black vents when everything around it is gloss black just hope it works as well as I think it well.

Re the front end install if you have a spare pair of hands it won’t be too hard. I stupidly attempted this in 1 degree temps on my own under a time constraint ! The extra pair of hands to support the bumper when threading in the lower grill would’ve made it loads easier.

This is what I’m working towards. Love the look of the Roush RS3 :inlove:

I’ve got the side ā€˜hockey sticks’ decals ready to be applied when it goes in for ceramic coating.
I’ve also sent off the side pods to be painted orange too.
Just need to sort the rear spoiler out now then I think that’s me done on this...

Which ā€˜hockey stick’ decals have you gone for? I have been thinking about this and have seen various options online but not all of them look quite right

Cheers

Hi Wizzer I’ve gone for the same ones as in the picture above as in the Roush RS3 design. Albeit mine are black on black where as the one above has a red accent stripe to it.

Thanks for getting back to me and I think they will look great on your new car. I love the build threads you have done and great choice of tasteful mods.

Do you mind me asking where you got them from?

I have seen various options on eBay and other companies in the states but don’t think you can buy the ones from Roush directly

So minor update re the decals don’t waste your money on the eBay jobs the fit is bloody awful. The overlap is huge circa 6ā€ but it still doesn’t line up properly. The bottom ā€˜tick’ doesn’t follow the lower swage line but instead kicks up so looks awful.

So after lots of messing around they got it to line up on the lower swage but that meant the alignment of the ā€˜hockey stick’ was out and it wasn’t tall enough to reach the upper swage line.

Reminder this is what it is supposed to look like ! The pictures in fairness are not threat clear as in it looks a lot worse in the flesh than the pictures imply !

I’m summary it’s shite and don’t waste your money. I’ve instead had a sign writer come and take some measures to quote producing a bespoke decal.

All the faffing around on the decal has delayed the return of the car until tomorrow. I can’t wait now and the detailer has been teasing me with a few snaps on progress !

it’s come out amazing bring on the summer to make the most of the brilliant orange fury 3 stage paint !

Side pods painted and fitted.

The stripes have come up really well too as they were notably etched from storage at dealers and lost their sheen

To be fair, I reckon you could end up with a better decal than the original Roush - do the thin strip and the corner of the back strip over lap the body line at the top ? (On the red car).

You could get them to make that area oversize and use that knife less tape stuff to get that area 100% perfect.

I think I gather what you mean! Extend the thick ā€˜hockey stick’ on the wing upwards towards the bonnet so it goes above the swage line ?
If so I agree I think the taller slash will look much better

Yes, put put the knife less tape on the car first - in the perfect position. Apply the decal (including the extra height) and then remove the knife less tape so the finished decal is perfect :like:

I have been quoted Ā£140 for the bespoke decals, going to think on this as I’m sulking about wasting Ā£85 on the eBay crap !

Picked the car up today from Extreme Gleam Detailing near Worcester. Can’t praise them enough so pleased with the end result !

https://extremegleamdetailing.co.uk/

Managed to grab a few pictures before I ventured out into the horrific storm of strong wind and rain !

Will need to take some better pictures but the crap iPhone camera doesn’t do the gloss levels justice.

I also had the Mishimoto H Pipe Installed too whilst I was there. Which sounds epic it’s kept the deeper burble added a slight rasp tone and increased the volume somewhat but still not too in your face. On quiet mode it’s still very tame and discrete on Race it’s gorgeous !

Couple of jobs to finish this off the black bonnet vents I get back at the weekend, it’s needs the windows tinting and of course the dammed decals !

I’m getting there now, and ready for the spring time meets hopefully !

Hi
I really appreciate the heads up with regard to the ā€˜hockey stick’ decals
Gutted for you that they aren’t right and you’ve wasted money on them so hope the option the sign writer comes up with works well
That aside your car does look bloody amazing I’ve gotta say!!
Great work so far. Been admiring all the new shape cars that people have been going for but think I’ll hang on to mine as it’s only got 1700 miles on it and been doing quite a bit to it recently

Looking great. Iphone does do it justice! Just needs those gloss black hood vents now, have they given you an ETA?

I'm looking to install the H-pipe but curious around insurance concerns around increasing the HP (albeit very minor) have you disclosed the mod to your insurance?
