Gotta say @Alfa Male - your car looks absolutely immaculate in all your photos! Well done

Interested in your little deck lid polish task - What machine/pads/polish did you use? Assuming finishing polish & soft finishing pad? Really wanna do mine & i have a DA with some 4" soft pads & polish that I think will do the job.

Thanks, and I can’t take the credit for the paint finish that’s down to a local company called Extreme Gleam who ceramic coated it when I had it new.

The deck lid polishes up very easy, I used my small rotary (I’ve got a Shinemate with tiny spot pads for small intricate areas) with 2” pad, Meguiars micro fibre finishing pad and Meguiars finishing compound. Ie the least abrasive set up possible as the plastic is so soft.

Best money I spent was on the DI Vessel for the spotless water finish. No need to dry car just rinse it off and leave it to dry in sun. Works a treat.

Minor update replaced my broken RPI Design Splash Guard that I managed to break the near side one on a speed bump !

This is what I managed to do !

BF8B04BB-215F-412C-805B-0E2FDB69818F.jpeg

So I purchased a set of Symone’s splash guards off here at a much cheaper price. For the money they are really good value but not the same standard of quality as the RPI Design versions.

Another week another mod !

This time after much wrangling with UPS over excessive duty charges from the States my ZL1 Addons GT500 Winglets arrived today.

I took a bit of a flyer on these as I have the Cervini front splitter which they haven’t launched a variant for yet. So I opted for the GT350 fitment with the view to having to modify the fitment.

So first up these are the winglets before fitting.

The fitment was way off so I had to make fresh mounting holes.

This is the end result, have to say I love the look. It’s just a shame the textured finish is not the same as the OEM finish as the plastic is darker (blacker) in colour. The product is really robust which is a good thing as it’s already scraping coming off the drive !

Finally I decided to remove the V8 badges I put on the bonnet ‘shadow’ stripe as I just wasn’t feeling them. I like the idea of text on the stripe just. It the raised satin badge.

I also removed the rear taillight covers too going to save them for shows only I think.

I really like the looks of these... had never seen them until yesterday. They look pretty fantastic and are quite simple... surely someone in the UK can make a copy of these. :sunglasses:

Hopefully so I got stung with £53 bill for combined duties and processing fee ! So a UK based supplier would be great !

So keeping up with the theme of fitting mods whilst the wife is out. I had the house to myself today so got stuck in to a big job I’ve been holding off doing as I knew it would be a long job.

First purchase was the US style lower front grill to replace the horrid euro spec version. No offence intended to those liking the Euro spec version !

5CB54971-7545-4503-BAA1-7BC72D447B97.jpeg

Second purchase was the gloss black Velossa Big Mouth Ram Air Scoop.
Final mod was to Dremel out the blanked holes in grill behind new Ram Air Scoop.

On to the install, first off remove the trim piece above radiator to reveal 5 x 8mm bolts and 2 sneaky 7/32 bolts under rubber trim.

Car in air to access belly pan bolts underneath

You’ll need to pull back arch liners to unplug the lights, but also access this sneaky 7mm bolt either side. What a pig that bolt is to get out

So finally after that the bumper is off!

First install was the Velossa Big Mouth, you can see the opening on right where it fits. Looks small compared to the scoop, that’s because it’s a stupidly tight fit !

After a fight I managed to get it fitted properly !

Next up the lower grill install. At this point I’ve removed the reinforcement bar from middle. The eagle eyed of you will notice the wiring attached to old grill that the new grill doesn’t have the fitting points for!

Old grill out new one ready to go in. Fitment is perfect as you’d expect fitting genuine Ford products !

Next up was to open up the blanked honeycomb holes to allow more air to access the ram air scoop. Pig of a job but got it done.

So busy day today getting the car immaculate for a Prom trip tonight for my mates daughter.

Full clean inside and out to get it ready. Can’t believe how good this Race Red looks in the full sun !

I also had a go at repairing the rear bumper drop I’m suffering from and associated creaking from the rear. Which I’ll do a separate thread on in case it’s of use to others.
