I would never claim to feel a difference, because I can't. If you can butt-dyno the difference between 87 and 93, your 87 must be some crappy gas. I buy 93 because I want to prevent the knock sensor from having to intervene. If it's not pulling timing for a knock event, there's no harmful knock occurring, and I'm getting maximum performance. Additionally, some brands include more detergents with their premium fuel.

I think we can all agree that pre-ignition / detonation is not good. I'd rather spend a few bucks to avoid this.

Whatever..... I know what I know about MY Mustang. I can’t speak for anybody else’s Mustang. There is more to the equation than WOT on a dyno. MY Mustang IS better throughout the power band, especially below 4K rpm when I am running 93 octane.
Hey, whatever helps you sleep at night. If you want a placebo effect, go for it

maybe because gas in general around here is cheap and so they make up for it on 93??? gallon of regular around here is 2.19 and premium is 3.29 last time I got gas anyway. Am curious why spend the extra on premium for mustang and say its a waste of money on a pilot? If anything those compact 4 cylinders are more efficient with premium. Especially if its a turbo.
Where do you live? My wife's Pilot has a 6 cyl and any car that uses premium where it is not recommended is wasting money. It is however recommend for the GT so I use it. If it was recommended to use 87 in the GT I would use it. Seems pretty simple to me. In any case, use what you want, its your money and your car I presume.

Where do you see that it is recommended by ford? I have a 2019 GT and on page 135 is plainly says 87 even has a picture and everything. Nowhere does it ever say use premium gas not even on the track usage page does it ever tell you to use premium gas. Look up anything as far as a spec sheet on the GT and no where will you find it say use premium gas. The only people recommending premium are internet forum people. so.. I mean if you don't trust ford then why buy their car?

And so we go on...............and on..............and on

For best overall vehicle and engine performance, premium fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher is recommended. The performance gained by using premium fuel is most noticeable in hot weather as well as other conditions, for example when towing a trailer. See Towing (page 196).
Do not be concerned if the engine sometimes knocks lightly. However, if the engine knocks heavily while using fuel with the recommended octane rating, contact an authorized dealer to prevent any engine damage.
We recommend Top Tier detergent gasolines, where available to help minimize engine deposits and maintain optimal vehicle and engine performance. For additional information, refer to www.toptiergas.com.

Ok, so the take away is if you’re towing in the summer use 91/93. :facepalm:
I think it's funny they mentioned towing with a Mustang in the owners manual. Never seen a hitch on a Mustang, never seen a Mustang tow anything behind it. :giggle:

Not Mustang related, but if you can attach a tow hitch, someone will tow with it.

@Briebee72

You asked where it stated its recommended. Then your shown in the manual it says recommended. Then you go off on a jag about people dont listen to it then show us a picture of a marketing deal ford had with BP. I kinda get what your saying but your mincing words.

We can both agree you will not notice shit between 87 and 93.

We can agree that if your filling up on 93 stock your wasting money if your looking for a performance gain.

What I would like you to address is about the engine knock. This is something you have not seen as you have not dataloged.

Do you think knock sensors being positive most of the time your driving on 87 is good for the engine?
