Not true.
VIN 001 is the Barrett Jackson car. Craig Jackson won the auction with a bid of $1.1million. That car will be the first off the line when plant goes to full production.

It appears that production has already started, the car is in the body shop. The mix up happened because FP misread the date as the scheduled day and not the estimated day of dealer delivery 10/3.

That makes sense. All the VIP and exec cars had to be first. Now all the late sept/oct dates for the Normies falls in line. I wonder if the car will be out in the public hands before any real tests, like the ford GT.

Production has not started. This car for obvious reasons is not following a traditional path, with the body being built early.

Consistent with what people have been told, and reflected in vehicle tracking, production starts the week of 16-Sep.

Supposedly the regional rep told my salesman yesterday that my car will most likely not see production until February.... Do we have an idea how many GT500s a week can be produced? I mean, with 5000 cars to be built, and to all get here by summer (5000 / 8 months / 4 weeks per month), they will need to build an average of 156.25 cars per week.

Just how many people do we have in here who have not had their cars come out of materials hold?

When are these factory orders. VIN 0002 - 0030 & 0097 - 0131 going to be built?

I agree that the FRAP has not started regular production for the upcoming 2020 GT500 and that chassis number "L0001" which is being built for Craig Jackson is an anomaly.

Who knows but Craig may want it built and completed for his Las Vegas auction which starts on October 3rd at Mandalay Bay.

Just a wild guess but don't be surprised to see "L0001" being displayed at Mandalay Bay in just over a month!!

PP001, glad you agree. I can tell you that everything I state is fact, not guessing. My current position provides me rather direct insight into the program. I see a lot of mis-information and guessing on these sites, so I decided to provide more clarity where possible.

Your math checks out if we assume level production each week which we know isnt true but good enough for this conversation.
I also do not have a build date and am listed as material hold. I figure we willl know in the next 3 weeks who will be 2019 and who is 2020.
Im starting not to care, get me the car whenever. If I get too annoyed ill get a 350R and enjoy it just the same.

The only thing my dealer has told me is Ford has acknowledged the order I placed in early July....not sure what that means

Sparko: I wouldn't be comfortable only having that limited information. Can you not stop in to the store and have the allocation guy or your salesperson look it up on their system? I would think that they should be willing to at least give you a copy of the DORA from Ford which is only "acknowledging" the order. By now, I would THINK Ford would have ginned up a VOC (Vehicle Order Confirmation) which is what you want. From there to Scheduled Material Hold - and finally - Scheduled Clean with a build week and a VIN. (I HOPE that's the correct chain of events.) :-)

Edit: I didn't ask the most important question, i.e., is it a local or remote purchase? If it's the latter...as Rosanne Rosanna Danna used to say, "Nevermind." :-)

I will hold out for the GT500, thats for sure. I do love the GT350 but it will not fill the void I"m looking for. I have been working hard this past year stripping my car, selling the parts and working overtime for the 500. I look at it this way, worst case is I get it in April and I have more money to put down on it, or save for the mods I am already planning to do to it.

Does anybody have an explanation for my order sheet listing 305/315 30 series tires on a base car? I ordered the handling package, would that trigger the larger tires and we just haven't heard officially yet?

Sorry no explanation but what I can tell is it’s a mistake on the Ford ordering system I believe that only the CFTP are coming with those. Not sure if anyone that is from Ford has clarified this if so someone please correct me.
