Is this the best way to track our cars?
yes or Calling FP once a week or your dealer.
Otherwise 7-10 days before your car is built you will be able to use the following:

http://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin= your vin goes after the =

A couple of folks with 9/23 build weeks now know their actual planned build days by getting the status from a call to their dealer or Ford Performance

Confirming a build "day " of 9/23QUOTE]

It looks like your dealer ordered the car on 7/6/2019 and you were able to reconfigure the order on 8/9/2019 just before it was scheduled.

We tried to get a CFTP without success and reconfigured to the base unit.
Thanks for the info, that would explain the different dates. At least you didn't lose your place in line. :like:

Well, all this time waiting is making my mind think......

I have never had Recaro seats before. Are they comfortable? Does "four way manual drivers" mean it will go up and down, along with forward and back? I really have loved my premium seats in my past two cars, and I am rather tall....... a whopping 5'5" lol , and I need the height adjustability. They are night and day better looking than the base seats and I am considering calling the dealer tomorrow to order them, since the car is still in materials hold.

The only Recaro's I have ever sat in was my sons 2017 RS Focus and they are rather narrow, even for my not-so-large self. If the Mustang version is comfortable and will be height adjustable I think I will switch to them. Do they slide forward the same distance from the dash as the base seats? Do they greatly reduce rear passenger room (I have little kids)? Lastly, do they have the memory fold feature to fold forward with the lever on the back of the seat like the base seats. I almost never use AC seats and I am not worried about not having heated seats so I guess manual seats aren't a deal breaker, as long as they are comfortable. The wife and I like to travel to car shows. I plan on driving from MA to PA for Carlisle and to SC for Mustang Week next year.

I ask these questions here, as I can only imagine, they will be much like the GT350 versions that have been out the past few years, and I am sure one of you will be in the know.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Jaime

Recaros feel good but I rather take the leather seats with cooling and heater. Go to your nearest dealer with a GT350 if you’d like to test them out. Same seats just a different color.

I dropped the Recaro seats in favor of comfort. If you go this route, you can swap out later and still be wired with the harness that you need.

Remember VINs and production numbers do not align anymore the chassis number is the number that Your car was built in order. You will know what number You was because your dash plaque will have the CSM and that will equate to chassis number or that’s my understanding.
What do you mean by VIN's and production numbers do not align anymore as they have nothing to do with each other?

Are you speaking of production dates and not production numbers?

Lastly, any Shelby GT350/R or any GT500 does not come with a "CSM" number and not sure where you got that information from?

Jaime: I can only speak of the Recaro's in my '14 AND, I live in South Texas. I've never been a fan of air-conditioned seats but I do like the heat in the Winter.

That said, I REALLY like them and at 5'9, they fit me perfectly. However, they do not move vertically, unfortunately so if you need height adjustment, the power seats are the only option.

Edit: This assumes of course that Recaro didn't change the seats from '14, a fact I do not know.

P,
You are correct I mis understand the CSM plaque there will not be one my fault.

I was referring to chassis number and VIN, it has been my understanding that chassis numbers and VINs are not the same anymore. It appears to hold true as build dates show lower VINs being scheduled after higher ones. So my VIN of 618 does not necessarily equal that my car was the 618th built. If you know different please correct me.

Good advice I will try to do this today. The 86 page brochure makes note of these as being tested and designed specifically for the 2020 GT500 which leads me to believe they will be different in some way.

I dropped the Recaro seats in favor of comfort. If you go this route, you can swap out later and still be wired with the harness that you need.
I did think of this as well but I assume these seats (GT500 specific version) are pretty desirable which means a hefty price, if anyone even wants to sell them..... Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it.

I am not sure of both your generation GT500, or the current GT350 version, but the brochure says "4 way manual adjustment", which I can only think will be up/down/forward/backward. Thanks for your help.

..but the brochure says "4 way manual adjustment"
Jaime: I stand corrected on my guess about the new seats. Went back to the BIG guide and re-read the seat section. The ref to "4-way" pretty much has to mean they have vertical adjustments. For Recaro I'd say, it's about time.

Yes, the Recaro seats have a vertical adjustment. Its a crank up/down handle on the left side of the seat.
