2020 GT500 confirmed orders

This is what happened to me with painted stripes. My dealer was clueless about the golden ticket and the order was finally rejected once the regional manager reviewed it. He is a smaller town dealer that only sells around 1 Shelby per year.

I feel your pain Timmer. Iam in the same exact boat. But atleast we are both rowing in the right direction. LOL

I ended up going without stripes with twister orange and black roof. If this ends up being all it’s cracked up to be maybe I’ll try for a carbon fiber package with stripes in a few years once the madness has died down.

It will be interesting to see how many CFTP GT500's get built. Seeing that their will be a limited amount of Golden Tickets and these tickets can be used for the CFTP, Painted Stripes or both. It all depends on the demand, number of painted stripes only, number of CFTP only and the number of CFTP + Painted stripes ordered.

My guess would be the majority would want CFTP only, a select few wanting Painted Stripes only (Talking about you Chuck) and about the same amount building with both Painted Stripes and CFTP (Tom and I for sure)

Iam an old fart and I think you are waaaay under estimating the demand for the CFTP and even the painted stripes. This country is loaded with Benjamins atleast according to Omar. LOL. On a serious note there are so many wealthy people out there we all couldn't even count that high. I would be willing to bet you a cold beer that they will sell out of the 1,250 allocations for these two options faster than a cat trying to cover his crap on a marble floor. Just too much money sloshing around in this country. Example: When you see all these super athletes making 20 Mill a year and then throw in their 10 Mill a year for endorsements you think $125 to $150K is going to bother them??? They won't bat an eye as they write out the check.

The big question is, who determines which cars that are in the order bank qualify for an allocation? Not all cars will qualify because the ordering dealer did not have an allocation for that car.

Harry has said that people in Michigan are the ones that decide who gets allocations. That's not very clear. What he means (I hope, because if this isn't what he means, I don't know what to say)..is that while dealers have been assigned CFTP allocations and are welcome to put their orders in the banks - people in Detroit will be selecting which ones are built first, second...and so on...essentially, they determine who gets the cars built first...and last.

That's about right and that is how it was explained to me.

The confusion seems to be in the use of the word "allocation".

A dealer who is allocated a car of a specific build type is awarded an allocation. When the order gets pulled for build, it goes into a unscheduled clean status. The car is assigned a VIN # and is scheduled for a blend or build date.

People seem to be confusing an allocation with a confirmed order with a VIN and a build date. Dealers in the shelby program who meet the various criteria are entitled to allocations based upon previous sales performance. The order is pulled by a small and select committee at Ford and then the order is scheduled for build.

And it makes sense if you already understand the process, as I'm sure Harry does - if you don't know the process it doesn't translate well if, like you said, people use the word "allocation" interchangeably.

So are you saying that there will be more than 1250 Golden Tickets issued? If so, will Ford continue issuing Golden Tickets until the 1250 CFTP cars are sold?

It was my understanding that when order goes into a unscheduled clean status, it has been reviewed and it was determined to be a buildable car (you didn't order a convertible with a sunroof), and it was allocated. I would assume that all the parts necessary for the build would also be available at the time of the build.

You said that Ford committed to building ~1250 CFTP cars for the 2020 launch year. If 300 people wanted only the Painted Stripes, which require a Golden Ticket, would this not affect the number of Golden Tickets available for the CFTP car?
