My dealer just told me he has a meeting next week where he expects his orders to be moved to priority 1. So I guess its time to see how lucky I am.

I think the major problem is the inability of the buyer to actually find out if the car they ordered has been confirmed allocated. As it stands now, the only way to confirm your car is going to be built is when you get your VIN and see "In Order Processing" and "Scheduled to Week" on your Vehicle Visibility Report.
That has always been the problem. There is no way to independently confirm whether you are getting conned or not.

We should get a group of GT500s together for Ford Nationals in Carlisle next year!
Already planned on it, as well as adding a pocono event for all fords

You're getting a non CFTP. Of course you were more likely to get a VIN.
My thought process was along the lines:
1. get the base as it will arrive sooner, i love the CF bits and want that exclusivity, but no backseat took the sparkle out / CFTP would likely be a very long wait anyway
2. had CFTP been available to me, I most likely would have gone for it, but was pretty sure I would not be able to/ May have been one of the 1st built if Ford decided to prioritize CFTP cars ahead of base given the winter tire hold-back

So i was 50/50 either way but glad my build worked out the way it did

I found that out in 2012 when I ordered my 2013 GT500, I was not amused.

Team Shelby always does a great event at Carlisle I’m sure they will want as many new GT500 to come with them next Year the last couple it’s been a Super Snake fest. I would think that they will want us to show case the new GT500

I just learned this afternoon, my build was rejected for CFTP... my dealer received 2 allocations, and neither were golden ticket awarded. So, I'm probably going to pass... and pick one up in a year private party.

Just too many great cars coming out right now... and this will free up one garage space for me. ;)

Best Regards,
Dave

So does a dealer need a golden ticket to get a CFTP? I was under the impression that a golden ticket meant you can get BOTH CFTP and painted stripes, but without the golden ticket you could still order a car with one of the two options just not both.

I placed an order with the CFTP but no painted stripes. If it’s not a golden ticket, will it be rejected?

Yes, You need the golden ticket for either the carbon fiber track pack or the painted stripes or you could choose both.

Am I correct in saying that dealers don’t know if they have a golden ticket until after the order has been received by Ford? I ordered a CFTP through a dealer who didn’t say anything about a golden ticket.

The dealer SHOULD know if they they are allotted a Golden Ticket or not. It seems as if a lot of dealers are either playing stupid so they can get your order in, or they truly are stupid!

Pertaining to the people getting screwed out of their CFTP orders....

Or maybe they know they have it (which they do) and possibly found another buyer who is willing to pay a lot more money?

Yeah, imagine the scenario where you have been in contact with a dealer for a while and you were told that you are getting his allotted CFTP car for little or no ADM. Then the order banks open and they hear of people paying $30k or more ADM for these allotted cars. It doesn’t surprise me that they take the money and screw you over by telling you “I can’t seem to enter your order” or “we can put it in and see what happens” I think this is happening to a lot of the guys in here. There’s NO WAY they “don’t know” if they have an allotment or a Golden Ticket!

They seemed genuine in my case... they said they received two cars, and didn't receive a Golden Ticket. I believe them... knew it was a long shot... all good.

Dave

This is what happened to me with painted stripes. My dealer was clueless about the golden ticket and the order was finally rejected once the regional manager reviewed it. He is a smaller town dealer that only sells around 1 Shelby per year.
