I realize there is a thread on the Steeda Dyno stuff. But, I wanted to give an more in depth analysis of before and after the tune.

Yesterday I changed the oil again and decided to return the car back to stock. I have roughly 4,000 miles on the car since new and 1,500 of those with the Steeda tune.
Exhaust
Stock: Sport+ when letting off the gas in say 1st or 2nd stock there was tons of popping almost like a string of firecrackers. Some guys like this but I found it too much.
Steeda: Some popping. Perhaps 1/2 the volume and only a snap here and there. Subdued and refined.

Idle
Stock: 500+ RPM
Steeda: 650 RPM

Overall power and drivability
No comparison. I put about 10 miles on the stock tune, which simply is not as refined and smooth. The lack of torque was immediately irritating. This is especially true in 4-6 gears where the car lugs if going slow. I don't have a dyno but there is significantly more torque low down. Very noticeable. Full throttle the stock tune in comparison feels flat in acceleration especially in the higher RPMs. The Steeda tune pulls through the entire RPM and you have to be careful you don't hit 8K. In my other thread I stated I had the car to 147 MPH. Based on the differences at the same time driving I believe I would not have hit the high 130s.

Gas mileage is good. But I could never go back to that stock dog tune. If you can afford it, do it. BTW I don't work for Steeda. I am as objective as I can be.

Nice review. I've been considering a tune because of the 1 - 2 second delay when I accelerate hard from a dead stop. It almost got me trouble a few times pulling out into traffic. VERY dangerous on Ford's part, IMO.

Important question what octane gas are you running?

91-93 According to James from "Tuning by James" who wrote the tune, the car will adjust for the difference in octane but a minimum of 91. The highest octane here is 92. When I was out of town with the Bullitt for the first couple of months I ran 93. I cannot tell the difference.

Lugging in 4th 5th and 6th? What fraking RPM are you at? I'm just fine in those gears over 1250 rpm. Under that you should be down shifting anyway.

Does the Steeda tune function on the UK/European models that have a GPF and which have additional code in the ECU for the GPF?

I assume the 93 tune will run fine on our comparative 97 or 99 (USA 94)?

My stock Bullitt idles a little over 600RPM--625 maybe--consistently. It also redlines at 7,400RPM, at which point the limiter kicks in. How are you getting '8K?'

No limiter I guess. If you look at James video you can see he hits 8k

I messanged James today. He said he raised the rev limiter to 8,000 RPM because of the intake.
