Ive gone back and forth on buying the tune from Steeda. The car runs so well in stock trim Im constantly struggling with "do I really need it?"..... Buy the time I ship to Canada and pay the exchange and taxes I'll be right around $1000 for it.

The question I have is if the exhaust crackle and pop between gears is noticeably any different with the tune installed? Its one of the many things I love about the car and dumb as it may sound its a factor for me in buying this lol.

Mark, what part of Ontario are you in? We have a facility in the Detroit area that may be able to assist with tune & upgrades.

Let me know if I can help assist

I don't notice any difference in exhaust sound. Are you considering any more power mods in the future? If so, the Steeda tune is good and you will still have the tuner for future upgrades so you really are only looking at the tune cost of $200 in the U.S. I've had many SC'd cars and I admit the lack or torque, even with the Steeda tune is an issue for me. Still love the car but I can see a blower in it's future.

Please keep us posted on what you decide on.

Hey TJ, question for you.. Theres a Steeda.ca in Milton Ontario. I talked to someone there (who was less than interested to help) and he had no clue about the Bullitt tune; He tried to tell me the tuner they have comes with a tune for the car.... When I said the bullitt had a specific tune through Steeda he said that they dont get the US tunes.... not sure I get that. truthfully speaking that phone call was enough for me to likely not call them again. Could have just been a bad employee answering the phone but definitely not a good representation for the Steeda brand.
I’m near Toronto so 4 hours +/- from Detroit so probably further than Im willing to go.
If I buy a SCT X4 locally can I still got the bullitt tune through you? Will it work with the BDX as well? Which is better? thx

Steeda.ca is a distributor of Steeda Products & is not owned or affiliated with Steeda.us.

Yes, if you purchase a tuner we can still write a tune for you - I will have to get pricing for a single Bullitt tune. Yes, the tune will work on both platforms - I don't have a dog in a fight but our lead tuner will be able to help.

When you are ready for the complete McQueen package, bring it down :)

I'm skipping the tune and going directly to the huffer. I have some experience with Whipple on a buddy's Camaro, but have a profound respect for the House of Jack - I went through his engine shop for RR Merlins (Jack's other Mustang), and like the way his company works. Also, the Roush breathes from the front, and seems to make the installation cleaner.

Thanks!
I'm not going to let the strut tower brace dictate the blower installation. My M3 and M6 both had gorgeous carbon fiber strut braces; I may need to layup a strut brace with carbon fiber tow to take the hoop stress, with BID cloth for the outer layers to look good. Of course, I'd transplant the Bullitt id badge from the Ford steel part to the carbon brace :like: I spoke with Roush; the (only) reason their Phase 1 is not recommended for Bullitt's is the clash between the blower and factory strut.

Never liked the sound Vortech/ProCharged cars make. Sounds like a jet engine which would REALLY annoy me in daily driving.
Yea, the straight cut gears are low loss, but do howl a bit. Both the Roush and Whipple are acoustically damped. If your'e goal is a track car, the Vorthech's are great. But ...if I wanted a track car I would have bought a GT350R.

I think you can get the Roush with a warranty. Don't know exactly what it covers. I had the Roush TVS on my 2011 with the Brembo package (3.73) gears and 6 speed. I really couldn't put my foot into to it in 1 and 2nd ever really. 3rd from a 50 roll I guess. I drove with Nitto DRs in 285 most of the time. Cold weather was bad.

The 6 speed gearing was better than our Bullitts as 5th was 1:1 instead of 4th. That said, the longer gearing of the Bullitt and the better clutch would likely work well with the PD blowers as our cars are a bit low on torque.

If you do it we'd love to hear your analysis.
