Rolling on a dyno doesn't replicate actual air flow while on the road for proper idle and A/F tweaks. Great example is with Ram Air/Shaker cars. Their air flow at higher speeds is a lot different than just sitting on a dyno in stationary air.
Correct. And at least with SCT X4 software datalogging at full throttle, driving normally, aggressively, etc. The data helps the remote tuner refine each situation including if you kind of lug the vehicle when you drive (you really shouldn't but some older people granny shift to the extreme) as well as the info with the gasoline in the tank.

Where I live you can’t do any WOT for any significant time. So dyno provides that

And yes again I’m referring to my cobra. I did trade a ā€˜16 in for the Bullitt But I only did a resonator delete on that requiring no tune changes. Things have chang d a lot and I understand that. Just can’t do it around here in WOT

Get on the freeway either late at night or in the early morning. You don't need to go hairy. Floored in first. Something like that. I find the biggest difficulty for the tuner is for daily driving smooth, not jerky driving.

Yeah just a couple good runs of 2500-redline in 2nd or 3rd will get the data you need.

I guess I just like a controlled environment where I won’t get a $400.00 ticket. Oh and we do put high speed industrial fans in front of the car. To keep things cooler and simulate wind speed.

controlled environments are not reality. Also you don't have a 30MPH wind blowing at you when you're at idle or doing under 30MPH and you don't have only 30MPH wind blowing on you when you're doing 50-85 on the highway. There is a reason that tuners prefer to use track logs. They are much more accurate.

talking about speed & HP I got this from the "other site" and it made sense about what's really our performance #'s:
"And 511 would make sense for if the Steeda video that shows the 2019 Bullitt making 435HP at the rear wheels is typical, then 511(HP) - 15% (76HP) comes to 435HP at the rear wheels. Pretty darn amazing!"
for my frame of mind the only dyno that counts is the one that takes the Bullitt to it's max RPM.

Exactly. I have yet to see a dyno graph, that takes the stock BULLITT to redline. They all stop at approx. 7,000 rpm.

Resurrecting this thread for a bit. I was quoted by a tuner about $1000 for a custom tune, which includes the SCT tuner. Just trying to figure out if it's worth it when for around $5-600 I could get the same tuner from Steeda with a semi custom tune according to my set-up. Or even cheaper if I can find a used unmarried SCT somewhere.

I have a '16 GT PP with MT-82. I only have an Airaid CAI and Corsa catback and I don't plan on doing much more if anything. I don't track my car and I'm just looking for some more low to mid range torque and HP to make the car a little faster around town.

I know an in-person tune would probably get me the most out of the car, but how much better could it really be for almost double the price? I do most of the work on my cars, but tuning is completely new territory for me. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!
