So after totaling my old car, I'm in the market for a brand new 2019 Mustang GT and stuck between these two colors. I originally wanted black but have taken precaution regarding the maintenance of black cars. I know color is subjective, but what do you guys think looks better?

I prefer the velocity blue over the red. I hear ya about black. I had 3 cars in a row that were black. Looks killer clean but gets dirty too quick.

Tough choice. I usually prefer non-metallics so really like Race Red. BUT Velocity Blue looks unbelievable in person. Not so much in pictures. It has 3 different pearls in the formula and pearls don't do their thing in static pictures.

Before Velocity Blue was available, I ordered my 2016 in Oxford White with plans to add stripes. Had decided on red but when Velocity Blue was released the plans changed and I did painted stripes and mirrors in VB. Some times procrastination pays off.

Great pic of our 2016 Mustang.jpg

Both good choices! I have the race red and my son the velocity blue. My choice Red Red, this is my second Race red.
About black, ecoboosted is correct. I had several blacks cars, they last clean for a couple of hours, but with the ceramic coating, they look great! ( for a couple of hours to admire) tough decision!

Hossier, I've always liked the VB stripes on you car, but never noticed the mirrors until you mentioned them. That looks amazing. Great choice. Really looks good.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the ruby/burgundy/wine/purple/shmurple red variants, if I want red I want RED.

We even bailed on the Octane variant on our RT, it was a little too purple-ish (and that's become such a "go to" color for soccer mom SUVs ...)

Race Red of course!! :)
I was actually surprised that there is metallic particles in the paint on my car. Does not show up unless you look close and it is more noticeable in the shade.

I imagine 95% of red owners will say red, and 95% of blue owners will say blue ...

So as the owner of a black car, shopping a new GT, I've been knocking around these two colors as well. I will say, I see __way__ fewer blue GTs around here, not sure of the actual production numbers, but at least andetocally I'm thinking a blue car will make it more rare (you know, in the vast sea of Mustangs in Florida :D)

I don't think you can go wrong with either. See which one you continue to look at. Blue is my favorite color but honestly that red with black accents/wheels is killer.

I like both colors. If I was shopping for a new one, I would narrow it to those two colors and see which one I found with the options I wanted for the best price.

Race Red, but my opinion may be skewed.

Both are great colors. I'd say let the options pick the color for you (unless you are ordering direct). For example: I couldn't decide between 3 colors, race red, orange fury, or velocity blue. The car with the best price and options won. So I ended up with a velocity blue. Couldn't be happier with it. The color is not captured accurately by camera. As someone mentioned it has a pearl effect. I find it some-what chameleon in nature as it can change hue depending on lighting. Make sure you get up close and see all three in the sun. Here's an example of how the paint changes in light. The front of the car is facing the sun and looks lighter. The rear of the car is darker. This color highlights the Mustang's contours really well. (not my car but illustrates the effect)

Ford Race Red has too much orange in it.

I would pick Race Red all day, but I’m old and like the base colors a lot.
