If I'm understanding correctly, it's not plug and play to install the puddle lamps on a 2016 GT. You would have to update the entire mirror assembly to a 2019 MY?

Are you modifying the stock housing or swapping them both out?

I take it with all that wiring, there are no existing plumbing to light up the puddles...

You have to cut out the existing plastic on the bottom to install the light.

No harness at all so you have to run the wiring.

In order to get the wiring through the body you have to notch the body so the wires can fit through the hole as you can see in the first pictures.

It is lots of work.

Grey wire with purple strip for positive connection and ground it on the bolt. I also ran a inline fuse.

Not only that you also have to run wires.

Or you can do what I did.

I already have the factory pony puddle lamps (401A package). Was hoping it would be a simple swap.

Welp..... it looks fantastic. The install is keeping me from doing this. I hope you enjoy it. I thought it would be cheesy but it makes it pretty fancy imo

When the light turns off and fades away, it is perfectly smooth. Don't know why the video is showing something different.[/MEDIA]
The refresh rate of the camera and the LEDs are not the same.

Nice work! :like:
