Hello all,

I've seen a couple topics on this but I figured I would put this all into one post so people can search for this. I have a 2017 GT350R and have wanted the puddle lamps on my car for some time. I've seen 2-3 people complete the swap successfully, one which included cutting the existing mirror for the lamps and wiring them separately, and the other being a direct plug and play swap.

Niz55 completely a swap on his 2017 car, which included cutting and wiring the puddle lamp separately. The link to that forum post is below:

Jobsi completely a plug and play swap on his 2018 GT350. His forum post is here regarding his swap is below:

I wanted to try and complete a plug and play swap on my 2017 GT350R, so I found a set of 2019 GT350 mirrors with the puddle lamps off a wrecked 2019 car. Part numbers of the mirrors I found are listed below. Note the service parts may be different than the stock parts.
LH: KR3V-17683-AB5G9Z
RH: KR3V-17682-AB5G9Z

However, when I went to plug the new 2019 mirror into my existing door harness connector, the puddle lamps did not come on. Upon closer inspection, the pins did not add up between the two. The 2017 mirror only had 7 pins in the connector, whereas the 2019 mirrors had 12 pins. After some research, I figured out the issue. The 2015-17 GT350s door wiring harness for the exterior mirrors is different than a 2018-20 GT350. Pictures of each of the connectors explaining the difference are below. 2017, 2018, and 2019 connector diagrams are below:

In summary, if you have a 2015-17 GT350/R, you will need to complete the swap like Niz55 did (link above). If you have a 2018 GT350/R, you can directly plug and play a 2019 or 2020 mirror with the puddle lamps into your car and will have functional puddle lamps.

Good luck everyone and hope this helps anyone out there who is interested with doing this swap like I was, and hopefully will avoid some headaches.

Excellent post. I'm sure the mirrors you purchased came with BLIS/Heat glass as well.. and you just swapped with your non-BLIS/Heat glass.

Makes me wonder if the BLIS/Heat wires are already there on the body harness (pin 11) then you simply have to do the below to get BLIS working from the BLIS DIY thread:
1. Install radar sensors to CAN bus
2. Program with Forscan
3. Don't have to mess with the mirrors as they're already connected theoretically.

Interesting for the 2018 folks....

I believe they are BLIS and potentially Heated. I do not see the Heated symbol on them, but I think the 2019 Tech pack cars came with Heated Mirrors. And yes, if you don't have BLIS/Heated Mirrors, you'll need to swap your glass over.

Interesting thought on 2018 cars adding the BLIS hack since the mirrors are technically wired already...

Thanks for doing the heavy lifting. I’ll link this thread in the GT350 Basics sticky for posterity.

great info, thank you

2018 owner here and I'm very interested in both puddle lamp, and more so on possible BLIS addition. Has anyone done a BLIS retrofit to their 2018 MY?

Yes, I've seen a couple posts around the forums regarding someone retrofitting BLIS into a Mustang, not sure if it was a GT350 though. I kept this to the puddle lamp retrofit, but since all the wiring and connections are there, it should work once you rig up the Radars and wire it correctly. A quick search should yield what you're looking for.
