I’m thinking of buying one as well in the future. It will not ruin your car but it will provide you the power to ruin your engine (or crash your car by not respecting the power.) That just means you need to build up a more stronger motor perhaps at some point (should you damage your motor.)

The way I drive I don’t think it will affect my motor too much but I also have to accept that it could. And the cost could be upwards of 10k with the added benefit of a built motor.

Depends on how you define "ruin". Will it shorten life expectancy? Probably by some amount, but I've seen SC setups on cars with plenty of miles on them. I've known SVT Cobra 4.6 4V owners running 700RWHP on stock internals go over 100K hard miles before developing issues. Alex at Lund has a high mile Coyote supercharged...or did. Still think he has it. He does not drive it easy, it's a pre 15 daily driver (no forged internals) and had over 80K on it the last time I heard.

If its that much of a concern you should stay stock, enjoy the car, and spend the money on a theater room for the house.

There's a guy on instagram, Rocketman5.0

I did a video on his car, he has about 170,000 + on his 2015 or 2016 GT... its been supercharged for over 100,000 miles now and making over 900 crank horsepower... stock motor.

So there's that.

I haven't owned a mustang that hasn't been supercharged staring with my '89 that I bought used in '90. My '08 GT had a whipple on it from when it had about 200 miles on it, and I sold it with 75,000 and never had any issues. I know the guy that bought it and he is over 100K and still having fun. My '18 is Whippled and has been pretty much since new. Currently 13K on the car with zero issues.

Superchargers were used in aircraft in World War II. If there was a major problem with them I would think they would've been tossed aside and forgotten about long already.

Ruining how?

You'll never get the money back that you spent on it, you could break stuff, but it certainly is a ton of fun. I could never go back to N/A now.

Mine is sorta ruined. I cannot register or sell it since it won’t pass emissions anymore. But can always take the supercharger off of it to do either of those things. So it’s just a temporary ruining. Lol. It is worth all the extra fun though.

These drivetrains were designed with supercharging in mind by Ford engineers.
If you aren’t going to supercharge or TT, consider selling the stang and getting an Accord Sport or maybe a Camry. Insurance payments already include the risk of FI so you are actually missing out big time on one of the finest experiences of Americana.
