Just to answer it as an opinion. Yes. I've supercharged 3 Mustang GTs. Especially with an automatic transmission. You just cannot use the power on 99% of the roads without exceeding the speed limit by a LOT. So, you nail it, smoke the tires and 3-4 seconds later you're done. A stick is more fun with a supercharger, but it kind of ruins your personal input. Like cheating the system. Instant power. Now. The fun starts to be ruined and you end up looking for more and more power. I've been there many times. Like a drug. Never enough.
So, you asked, OP, yes, you will get a quick fix, like a drug, then you'll be doing suspension to keep the thing controlled properly, drag radials, etc.
If you do it, you'll love it. A year later you will be bored.
Remember, you ASKED a real question and an OPINION. That's what I have provided.
Whatever you decide, the S550 is a wonderful car. You will enjoy it.

You can ruin anything if you work at it. However, any kind of quality "power adder" will not ruin your car unless your goal is to keep it stock and it didn't come with a "power adder". I have a 19 PPL2 with the Roush (and a few other goodies) and it runs flawlessly...knocks down 25+ on the highway without trying hard. Go ahead and get a quality system and you will not regret it. The extra HP /TQ is wonderful!!!!

In particular the Orange Fury 'Stangs prefer boost....

Ford's best engineers have recently determined that the "Ruby Red" Mustang Gt's can add up to 2 lbs of boost which can equate to over 100 whp...Scientist have also determined that the Ruby Red tintcoat paint has accelerated particles in its dna that enhances the boost process by improving overall efficiency of the boost delivery process! Also Scientist have determined that having the sun in your eyes can blind you...lol
