Lund Tune questions (93 and e85)

So i have a question. Im looking to purchase a lund tune with ngauge here soon. My only experience tuning a car was a 93 tune by lund for my old Kenne Bell car. I

I see that when selecting the tune from the major distributors, you pay extra for Flex/E85 tune. Does this mean Lund will tune for both 93 and E85.

In simplified terms. Will a lund tune make more power on 93 as well as on flex/e85? im not planning on a E85Race tune.

EDIT: can you run the stock cats on their flex fuel tune?

Lund will send you a 93 tune as well as a Flex tune and E85 race tune. I definitely felt the difference between the 93 and Flex tune as once the E85 % is around 80 or higher it will add timing. You can monitor the alcohol % on the Ngauge. You can run E85 with stock cats.

I too run this tune and it is def worth it. Of course runnig flex means lower MPG's but umm...GT350 ????? so yeah.

I too run this tune and it is def worth it. Of course runnig flex means lower MPG's but umm...GT350 ????? so yeah.
Ive had many friends run E85 in boosted and non-boosted applications. before i sold my car i almost bought a fuel system and a party pulley but i was already in jeopardy of needing a new block.

i just know a 12:1 CR high revving motor would love a bit more alcohol.

I am running the flex tune and E85R tune as well. The flex tune doesn’t advance the timing as much as the straight E85 tune though. Once you get to 80 percent or better the E85R tune is the once to run for the best power. I use the flex tune just for transition from pump gas to E85 and when the percentages are lower. The ngauge doesn’t give you an accurate percentage though. It’s calculated in the ECU and is optimistic. It will read 91 while your only at 81. I installed an enthanol sensor and send it’s signal to my ngauge for an accurate percentage value. It works great.

What are the benefits of adding the sensor?

The sensors tells the computer exactly what the ethanol content is. Without it, the computer has to learn the ethanol content via knock and O2 sensors. So it's incredibly important to TAKE IT EASY when you transition from one fuel to the other so the computer can learn the correct timing and trims. Lund tells you what the learning procedure is.

So the sensor benefit is decreasing the transition time from 93 to e85 as compared to factory sensors?

And running actual commanded parameters. Flex tunes without sensors are tuned soft because the car is guessing. It's basically licking the tip of its finger, holding it up, and trying to figure out where the wind is coming from.

I actually just use the sensor for the accurate reading on the gauge. Lund still uses ford flexlogic in its flex tune. They calculate the ethanol percentage in the ECU and it’s not as accurate on the display. I see values 9-10 percentage points higher than actual. I need better accuracy before turning on the E85R tune and the test tube method is a pain. I get real time accurate ethanol readings now.
