Opinion on B&O System and 401A Leather on 2019?

Hey All - Curious what the general opinion of those of you who got the B&O system or didn't get it was? Just curious, I'm 98% sure I'm going to order it with it, from what I heard it sounded great. I'm not sure if the stock system is decent enough though.

Also 400 vs 401A leather, are the actual seats different or just the extra wrapping around the knee area and accent stitching?

Do it! I love the B&O. Best way I can describe them is that they produce such clear sound, that you don't realize how loud they get. No distortion or unbalanced frequencies all the way to max volume.

I have the 400A leather (wasn't aware that the 401 was diff) and like it a lot.

The B&O was a must have for me and I think it sounds great. I test drove one without it and the difference was huge.

I would say yes get it. Can you do better after market, sure, but for a factory install, it is well worth it.

B&O is great! must have in my opinions. As far as the 401 leather I went with Recaros but I think the leather looks good regardless.

As for the leather, the accent stitching and stripes are really nice. I have showstopper red, and I can't imagine the car without it.

I also have showstopper red with lightning blue. I was wondering if someone else had the combo. I love it

I have the B&O Play in the Bullitt. It’s decent, but surprisingly, the stock Harman-Kardon system in my 2016 Subaru Outback Limited sounds much better. I’m a bit disappointed.

401a has thicker higher quality leather and more soft touch materials throughout, as well as the leather padding for your knee and the added stitching around the center console (the center console is also soft touch (though, barely) as opposed to completely hard plastic).
I had a 401a 2016 GT prior to my 401a 2019 GT, the 2016 GT had the same interior and leather as the 2018/2019 400a, the 401a 2019 GT is bar none a higher quality interior with better leather and stitching on the seats.

+1. Don’t have the B&O, but my first 18’ GT was a 400A with tan leather....and my second 2018 GT (current car) is a 401A with black leather. Much higher quality leather. Compare the 400A leather with a BMW or Mercedes ‘Leatherette’ type feel. Also as a side note...pretty sure the bottom seat part of the back seats of the 401A are the same type material as the entire front seats of the 400A cars. Both are really nice though but I do prefer the 401A extras.....knee bolstering areas are leather...better stitching...and the center console material is different. Softer touch. Hope this helps

I have the B&O and 401A in my 2019 GT. The system sounds good, but not great compared to other optional factory systems I’ve had over the years (Harmon Kardon and Mark Levinson more specifically). I leave it in surround mode though and I do enjoy it that way, sound is clear, bass is pretty crisp and it sounds just more special to me.

The 401A leather is a nice upgrade over stock, the contrasted stitching is a good touch as is the extra padding you get where you knees tend to hit the console and on the center console lid. I wish the used the contrasted stitching on the shift lever boot but that’s a minor thing. Overall I felt both were worth the money.

Yeah. In 2016 you had to order the Premier Trim option on top of 401A to get the better leather, stitching, etc..

Thanks everyone for the opinions! I already wanted the 401A dash but the better leather sounds like a nice bonus! Also B&O sounds like a no brainer now, I got a chance to listen to it when test driving but was curious about the long term thoughts on it. While I'm going to love the loud active exhaust, I do like some great music on long drives

I ordered 401a and B&O (19 GT Premium) and would not do it differently. I was actually more impressed with the B&O system than I expected to be. I was not aware of the 400a and 401a leather differences, but I have no complaints on either.
