Awesome! 4.56’s seem like a sweet spot for the 350.

I would like to hear from others on the forum here who have done this swap. Anyone else changed over to 4.56 ratio? I am close to pulling the trigger. I have a specialty shop a short drive away who will do the job.

I adapted this spreadsheet from another one I found on the 'Net...

Great work.

Now for some 0-120 speedo video.

I was hoping Ford would offer a 4.09 or 4.11 rear gear ratio as an option. If the fuel mileage is about the same as a 3.73 gear, I would think Ford could offer the option. Great opportunity for Ford to make more money. So why not ?

Thanks for the detailed write-up! I bet the car launches from a stop much better with the 4.56 gears.

I am considering the gear swap to 4.11 in my R. I don't run over 120 any way so why not bring some of the power down to a more usable window.

By any chance did you check the backlash on the factory gears? I think most of the torsens on pp and Shelby cars might have too much backlash causing the clunking noise and too much play when you spin the driveshaft side to side under the car.

So, nobody else has done the 4.56 swap, except for John Vallo?

I am very impressed with the content of this thread. Big thank you to John Vallo for being such a pioneer in Yukon gear swaps. Now I know where to get the Yukon gears from and how to install them. Very thankful to John.

Agreed, but seems nobody else has done this swap yet!
