The MT82 has lived for years behind abusive drivers. The MT82 certainly isn't the most refined of transmissions, and if you add significant power their longevity will suffer, but we haven't ever seen anything remotely like what is going on with these 2018 and up MT82's. Between chasing higher EPA ratings with the gearing changes and lowering manufacturing costs with substandard materials, Ford has really screwed the pooch. Looks like I will be staying with my 2016 until I see some resolution not just on this issue, but also the ticking time bomb 2018 Coyote engine they also managed to fuck over . Bean counters are winning at Ford right now.

So you're giving this one a pass? A 600 mile transmission is okay to break because you're intimidated by the guy having muscles and shifting? LMAO. If Ford's intent on designing is that close to failure of an aluminum part that "hulk shifting" breaks their trans, that whole car will fall apart within 30000 miles. I "hulk shifted" my 05 Mustang GT more times than I can count, didn't break. Same with my Boss 302, and my GT350.

I'm not giving it a pass, I even mentioned posted that the forks aren't as strong as they were. Everyone knows that. "Intimidated by the guy having muscles".....good Lord, enough with the drama little one, this isn't H.S.

Your 2005, 302 and GT350 had better transmissions, and it's already been determined that there was a bad batch of forks that are breaking in the MT82-4s.

If that's gorilla shifting and will break my tranny, I might as well sell it now because I'm in trouble. Those shifts should not have hurt a thing. My car was built in May, so hopefully that issue has been resolved.

Can we get TSB issues taken care of free of charge and before a failure happens while under warranty? I don't really like waiting on things to break, and I know once I have an aftermarket shifter there will probably be some dealership-headache involved to take it in for transmission-related problems.

Kevin you can not have TSB issues fixed while under warranty unless your car actually has the specific symptoms.

You must not know that I DGAF who he is, as it's not important. He gorilla shifted, he used a lot of muscle and force to shift, when it was absolutely un-necessary, and broke his transmission. It's in the video, it's plain to see. I'm not disagreeing that the MT82-4 trans has shift forks that are weaker than they used to be. But this guy KNEW they were weak, and still gorilla-shifted his transmission and broke it.

Look at his face when he shifts, it looks like he's intentionally trying to break his transmission. People that run manual transmissions well don't use excessive force, and use the same amount of force every shift. They don't Hulk-out on the shifter because they're trying to accelerate fast.

Is he supposed to baby it until the warranty runs out?

The TR3160 is 100% mechanically incompatible with the Coyote engine and the available gear sets from Tremec are a poor match to the Coyote.

I don't know what that "100% mechanically incompatible" means. It's incomparable because it's not made to be compatible. Yes, several things would need to be changed, and gear ratios are changed all the time and are different for the Camaro and the ATS. I don't think people are proposing that it would be a bolt-on option. If Ford wanted it to fit, it would.

People ARE under the impression that the TR3160 is a bolt on affair. Which it is absolutely not. And yes, an OEM can work with a supplier to customize whatever. The GT350, Camaro, and ATS ratios are all custom and not out of the box.

There was nothing wrong with his shifting. I've been driving my car that hard if not harder for over 3 years and haven't broke a shift fork. Well, not yet!

I thought the Voodoo and Coyote blocks use the same engine and trans bolt patterns.

What is preventing someone from bolting a TR3160 onto a 2018 Coyote block?

No one asked for opinions......and by the way, most on this forum said the same thing about the 2018 Mustang refresh.

Actually,.....I think the previous models before the 6th gen Camaro are WAY UGLY!! The new ones aren't too bad, but still ugly. At least from the rear of the door and back.
6th gen Camaro definitely not better looking than the 2018 Mustang GT though, correct?
