Spend $111K, and you won't have to complain about body panel alignment......probably.
How much more should it cost in this day of lasers and robots to get the hood and front fenders to fit?

Haha. You need to do some research. BMW engines tend to have issues. The 4.0 V8 loves to eat its crankshaft bearings.
The N54 and N55 have there fair share of issues as well.
Read up....and you'll see that the 5.0L Coyote is a very solid engine compared to many BMW engines. Let's dont even get into random electrical issues with a lot of BMW's products.

well this source with that kind of language is trustworthy? surely you could find sources who call Ford Engines likewise.

FYI; Mustangs are not "Muscle" cars.

from my european perspective the Mustang is a Muscle Car. there are discussions about that even in the States. when the Americans come to a opinion about that, we europeans will learn and accept. here are just a few US V8s on the streets. I dont know ONE Driver personally. sometimes i see a stang on the street and we greet us. You can officialy only get Mustangs since 2014 and camaros since 2015 in germany. No Dodge, No Charger, no challengers here. no US Cars . so the Mustang is the closest we can get . when we talk about performance cars the Europeans choose European Cars anyways. M3, M4, M5, AMG Mercs, Porsches, GTI´s or Italian Toys .

I'm just trying to help. If you want to cal a Pony car a Muscle car, go right ahead.

Mustangs, Camaros, and Firebirds have always been Pony cars. It's a discussion only for the uninformed.

I've heard it both ways ever since they put a big block in those cars, and rightfully so. Either way is correct unless your talking about a 65 with a straight six or small block in my opinion. The point being, traditionally American cars are known for big loud power, bad gas mileage and bad handling/braking until modern era. If money were no option, I'd have a hangar full of everything from a Superbird to a Ferrari.

I don't think Germans will ever fall out of love with Mustangs. However, they are not considered to be in the same category as M3s, M4s, etc, even if Mustangs can now outperform them in some categories now. Still, Mustang is seen as a novelty and a symbol for what it was in the 60s (Pony car, Muscle car, whatever). Consider the fact that Route 66 stickers and restaurants are also common novelties throughout the country.

Also, as has been pointed out, depending on the trim, Mustangs can cost significantly more in Europe than their European counterparts and because of taxes, it's a gift that keeps on giving. So, generally speaking, those who buy them are true enthusiasts.

And I apprciate the Help very much. I always thought, that Pony is just a lovely sort of NickName for the Mustang because of its Name and the pretty Horse on the Grill, while its true Nature is Muscular, strong v8ish , rumbeling soundish and very, very american.

Thanks NoVaGT. I have learned a thing .

Has anyone here owned a BMW?! They may have better fit/finish but there build quality is not exactly better than the Mustang. As someone who worked and still talks frequently to people in the automotive parts quality control BMW was one of the worst manufacturers.

Though I only experienced mostly X and 3 series models. Loved a few years back headliners for x5s came in from Mexico with footprints all over them :D
Overall they’re better id say but at cars and coffee I’ve seen gaps that puts mustang panel gaps to shame. Could be an idiot badly reinstalled it but who knows.

$10K?

Are you smoking son? Prices went up slightly, a few percentage points. The biggest price increase was the Performance Pack 1.

What improvements?

Direct injection
Revised transmission
Revised clutch
Revised shocks/struts
Revised front end.

And a ton of new options.
Don't forget things like LED headlights, Android Auto, etc... There were some luxury/interior improvements. Not just performance.

That's why I finally went for it after over a decade of owning German cars. The German cars (with the exception of VW) really hit you hard for options.

My next may be a Tesla or BMW.

This marketing myth that German cars are more reliable is not true. Remember the catastrophic engine issues of the 996/997 Porsche. Most of the reliability indexes show the cheaper cars (with less tech/electronics and general gimmicks) to be the most reliable. The latest JD Power reliability rating shows BMW at the bottom with Audi third from last. In fact Ford is above BMW, Audi, VW and Mercedes.

Don't get me wrong I still like a number of the performance cars from BMW and Porsche but let's not over exaggerate reliability. I will say my 20 year old 140,000 mile BMW E36 M3 was very reliable.
