Lorne, from what I know about the local ones (haven't been yet, hopefully next month), they make you walk the course at least once to understand. Then there are cones that are knocked over that you follow whichever direction they are pointing for where you go. I don't see any pointed cones in his video though so probably just walking the course.

Thanks... I'm such an analytical guy (work in IT) that I would be setting up a specific color of cone for pass through and then having some type of direction marker of some sort (whether it be a cone tipped over) for turns... i've never been to one so I don't know but it seems to be that there were a lot of unnecessary cones setup which made it look confusing.

Looks like a lot of fun... I have been thinking about doing Auto X ....BUT.. how in the heck do you know where to go and which cones to avoid and which one's to go through? I was trying to guess the path you were taking and was wrong several times.. Do they map it out for you or are there specific colors of cones/layout that tell you what direction to head?
It is a lot of fun! I get a little competitive and have to sometimes tell myself to enjoy it more

And yes, your absolutely right. They give you a map, you walk the course beforehand and have general boundary cones(Orange) and you have the Gate cones (Yellow).
It can be very tricky as your managing your car, setting up for the next turn as well as computing the turn after that (eyes are 1-2 turns ahead).

I tend to like the road course stuff better but the risk is not for everyone. Heres a small taste of a semi wet Sonoma on my old suspension set up.

Quick little wipe down before taking a little drive.

Did I tell ya'll how much I love this car just in its stock form. I'm still having a hard time deciding what I even need to change right now. I am even content with the drop. The car is so well behaved I don't want to sacrifice any of the feeling.
Hey rich, not sure what camera you use but you have amazing pics. You made my decision for my 19 in Kona easy

As long as I had the rear wheels off until tomorrow evening I got started on installing the zl1addons rear rock guards. Cleaned up the well and stuck on the blocks so they can set up overnight before I drill the mounting holes and finish it up.

Installed my MGW x-spec low profile shifter. Shifts smooth as butter now and the throws are the perfect distance. Can definitely feel a bit of vibrations from the transmission but that was expected.

How was the install? Any tips?

First shifter I've ever installed in any of my cars and I can honestly say it went a lot smoother then I was expecting. I did it on jack stands and opted to install it with the exhaust and driveshaft still in, it's a little tight moving around to get to the bolts but very simple. If I had to do it again I would definitely invest in some better quality ratcheting wrenches for a couple of the bolts. Other then that just watch mgw's video on youtube of how to install it a couple of times or watch it as you go.

That is crazy clean looking!

Not today, but last week I installed the Roush chin spoiler and canards and the Cervinis upper and lower grilles. Also had the track suspension installed! Busy week!
:thumbsup:that is so clean and aggressive looking man. You going to do wheel spacers to or change the wheels up? How much is it lowered by? Interesting also that roush claims you need to use their lower grille insert:crazy:
Which you clearly just disproved with this killer setup.

Gettting HRE Flowform FF01's in IPA put on this Thursday. Been waiting almost a month for them. The car is lowered 1" all around. As for the spoiler, when I called Roush they clarified that you need the spoiler with the grille delete but not the other way around. That being said, since my car is non-PP I ran into issues. There are a lot of subtle differences between the two front ends. And I have a small gap between the spoiler and the bumper cover that I'm trying to figure out. Waiting to hear back from Roush about that issue. It may be that way because of the lack of their lower grille.

Honestly that makes no sense to me.

So you can run the spoiler without the grille delete? But not the other way around? Yet you obviously have run into issues anyway despite them telling you the compatibility of their parts:headbonk:
Thanks for trying it out and posting your experiences man. Car looks great imo. Can't wait to see it with the wheels on:thumbsup:

It seems the spoiler hooks into their grille somehow. I suspect my gap is either due to not having their grille to hook into or possibly due to foam that is inserted into the spoiler. Once I hear back from them I'll see what I can do. I may have to take the thing off to fix it. Not looking forward to that. It was a giant pain taking the bumper off to do all this.
And thank you for the kind words. I'm very happy with the look!

I know but its gotta be done. Looking at your current pics lowered it looks plenty low. Are you keeping the Vorsteiner wheels when you sell the car? Right now with the stock PP wheels and 20mm spacers they may actually be my limiting factor in airing out. Might have to play with the camber a bit once I mount the billet shock mounts.
My rear shocks "bottom out" now. They are fully compressed at around 40psi in the rear bags. The shocks are spun as short as they can go as well. The problem is that the Steeda mounts locate the mount lower on the body than the stock mounts. Allows for less shock extension. They are fantastically built pieces and the quality is 2nd to none. That being said, the "Direct Replacement" of them, I give a 3.

What are you running for tires/sizes? The stock "Camber Arms" have a decent amount of adjustment in them. The part that connects to the hub or spindle is a solid mount and there is no adjustment there. Where the arm connects to the body it is actually slotted for some adjustment. Otherwise you will need to get some true adjustable ones.

IFFFF I sell the car, I plan on keeping them for the new car. Hoping to order a 19 towards the end of summer but haven't made up my mind totally yet. Color is the biggest hangup. Cant decide if I want to part the car out and sell private party, sell the car as is (Stock wheels), or return to stock and trade it in.
