I know he said he would be more busy with work, but anyone heard from Hextall in a while?
I'm still here but my free time between 5a-6p is a lot less. My role at work has changed and where as before I could email, text and talk on the phone while I was waiting for test track time, I'm now in the dyno cell exclusively.

The toggle switch works and they show on the IPC but it says not available. I used a 400a GT PP without nav and has reverse sensors. There are also a whole bunch of DTC's in Forscan but I suspect that is normal correct?
You should not have DTCs besides some stuff in the FCIM and the modes should work fine. I would have to see what you have in the modules currently.

HextallS550 explained it and has been very helpful but I am more of a visual person. My screen and apim is a non nav from an escape. My mustang is a base without parking sensors, just the ecoboost with automatic and fogs and the only addition was a spare tire. Are there any videos on how to program this online? Has anyone that has used the apim from another model done this and possibly recorded the process? Any assistant would be highly appreciated
This comment relates to anyone in this situation. As I said in the OP if you leanr by doing none of this stuff is truly gong to make sense until you actually get in the car and take it apart and/or you connect your OBD tool of choice, start FORScan and look at the tables. I would post up the data from my car which has no DTCs and functions just fine but unless you have the exact same car it will most likely throw DTCs and then we'll have 3 more pages of people posting that they have issues and disregarding my warnings.
the database that Spart contructed is the first thing that you should have a look at. He's made that part of the equation simple.

I am a visual person myself and was kinda iffy about this but really once you get into Forscan attached to the car its pretty straight forward.

HextallS550, you have a 300a Performance Pack car right?

Also since I have a 401a ACM(Sat/HD) do I need to change something regarding the audio settings? It seems that the overall volume has gone down, like with the base radio I never went above 15 but with the sync 3 I have to go up to 18-20.

LOL I'm pretty sure I've got something jacked up, I'm not showing line lock or launch control in my track apps in addition to the drive modes not working. I pasted the connection log below. im gonna look for another car off the spreadsheet to use and see if that fixes anything.

Do any of you guys that have purchased MFT to HU5Z hub adapters from me still have your MFT hub? I have someone that needs it.

I came across a YouTube Video the other day where a guy was showing a conversion he was doing on a F-350. He went from the old school simple Radio/CD to a Sync 1 with nav.

click

Now what caught my attention was how he provided the GPS signal to the new headunit.
He had some kind of splitter wiring available. It plugged into the single cable coming from the SIRIUS antenna and had SIRIUS (curry colored) and GPS (pink) connector on the other side.
He did not need any additional GPS antenna!

Doing some further research I found DanMc85 post over on 2gfusions.

He used a very similar splitter to wire in his new fin shark antenna. That one had the blue fakra connector attached to it which is the one that plugs into the back of the sync3 APIM. However in his Fusion the splitter used a dual input from the antenna (see pic #6 in his post).

So I went on and found that on the Ford F-150 they use this splitter:

Now my question is:

If that splitter is able to get Sirius AND GPS Signals out of a present Sirius antenna, would it be possible to use that darn thing on my 2015 Mustang to get GPS to my SYNC3 which I'm about to put in?

What would be the right part # for our cars?

What do you think?

How much is that splitter? There isnt one specific for the Mustang AFAIK otherwise HextallS550 would have used that instead of a aftermarket one. The GPS antenna is cheap and mounts right where the factory one is under the center dash panel so I dont really see the need TBH.

I’ve found one on ford parts which is around 17$, but I’m not sure it’s the right part. You’re right, the gps antenna is cheap but if I can do it oem style for nearly the same price id prefer that. The second advantage which Dan already showed in his post is the improvement in gps reception by using the roof mounted antenna

The Mustang GPS antenna is in the dash, the only ones that have the roof antenna are the cars with Sirius/XM from the factory and I'm pretty sure they still have the factory GPS antenna separate. HextallS550 could probably chime in and confirm.

Mounting an antenna on the roof is more to improve the Sirius signal. Several Ford cars including Mustang use a GPS antenna mounted in the IP. Will it improve GPS on the roof? of course. But how many people have the ability to properly attach the factory fin antenna? If the hole (which is a stamped square) isn't drilled correctly you will have a car with a water intrusion. I don't have the pin out on my work PC but I know that there is a difference between MFT and Sync 3 in how the antenna system works.
