Something comes to mind in asking the same question over and over again of the op. He refuses to answer and throws out random unrelated questions to keep you on the line. Spit the hook and move on.
no ones asked me any questions I haven't answered already. Maybe people should actually read the thread. Do you expect me to call them when they are closed?

Maybe I assumed too much but I based you being an "enthusiast" on your supposed interest in Mustangs and Shelby GT350's or are you really not interested in purchasing a Mustang or Shelby GT350?

As far as you calling around and visiting various dealerships did you visit or call this Ford dealership to confirm the discount pricing of $4,721 off MSRP on this 2018 GT350?

I find it very interesting that you would start a thread on a Shelby GT350/GT350R forum about how all the hype is over for these outstanding automobiles based on a Ford dealership in Pennsylvania offering an Orange Fury 2018 GT350 at $4,721 below MSRP and doing all that without confirming the actual purchase price. Absolutely zero chance that car is going for 5K under and therefore destroying your argument as stated many times previously by other.

Based on my experience of purchasing various models of Mustangs for ~50 years I would suggest that once you call this dealership on Monday morning you will find that the price offered for this 2018 GT350 will not be honored therefore your thread really does not have much merit.

Lastly, just to be clear do you have a real interest in purchasing a Mustang/GT350 model or are did you post your thread for other reasons?

;)

You are missing the point and proving my point with your above statement. Notice the bolded text above. You have not answered all questions. Deflecting and not answering the question is what you are doing. I don't care if you ever call the dealership because everyone on here except you knows the answer. Zero chance that car sells for 5K under thus totally destroying your theory.

Yes, I over looked post 27. Win for UAmach1. Do you still think the car is 5k under or do you have to hear it for yourself that it is not?

So, the hype is over based on one ad? And we all know that the dealerships place ads that are really not all that accurate once they receive a call to confirm the price. Before starting a thread like this, I would make 110% sure my statements are accurate, and I would remove all Altima and Escort mentions.

Ah, car snob. Opinion marked as worthless.

ZX2 = great for AutoX
Altima = great for driving nearly 1600 miles a month and not living at a gas station.

For four model years, the entire production run of an American car, and it still commands msrp and above..to point to one ad and proclaim “the hype is over”, is ludicrous. And the ad makes no sense, why would a dealer start off with an asking price below invoice base on this cars prior sales history of commanding msrp and above?

If it was one of a million F150’s for sale..yeah, it’d make sense. But it’s not.

Not a car snob, but if you come on a performance car forum, with all those lame @$$ cars listed as cars you owned, and tell the forum members that the hype is over on a car they just paid HUGE money for....well, you have zero credibility. So, why post here? You sound like a jealous 'bag. Please, go buy a Camaro.....

The whole limited availability and requisite ADM frustration can be a positive if you've jumped through the hoops to attain one of these cars. That positive would be a decreased depreciation curve over time. There are those here that are justifiably defensive for having done the leg work, cultivating relationships with dealers, and flat out paying a fat ADM (mostly on the R models)

It took me a long while to find a dealer who had interest in knowing who I am, taking care of me and the cars I've purchased from them. In turn I'm grateful for the relationship and will continue to do business with them for years to come. Dealers like these are hard to find.

These threads pop up from time to time and they reveal (to me) the frustration of those who haven't or don't want to take the steps necessary, which is completely understandable as well. Hell I was one of them as I berated those who paid an ADM. But in hindsight, through all of the frustration spending the time to find that dealer who wouldn't gouge me was worth it, and I wouldn't have it another way. Anyone can go get the latest and greatest Camaro without having to deal with any of this.

I like to disassemble things.
this thread is such study of human behavior.

It takes a certain kind of person to drive and see the value of the GT350...
It is a study. There's a lot of people that feel the way he does about the "cost" of a GT350. Not all of them choose to voice it the way he did but hey, we're all different.

Everyone judges the value based on their own perspective. Some get emotional about it and others see it from a pure business standpoint.

It comes off like you guys never want markups to end or to be able to get a car for less than MSRP. As if you'd find it insulting or something.
So wait.. you WANT hype so that prices stay marked up?
Nobody is happy about the markup. Nobody. That said, if you want one bad enough, you'll find a way to get one. It may mean spending a lot of time researching and reaching out to dealers across the country. If you have exceptional negotiating skills then put them to work for you and get it done.

Most that frequent this forum have shared similar experiences that in the end resulted in having the latest and greatest Mustang in their garage. So when you step inside the box and boldly announce to them that (in essence it is what you did) the value of the object of their desire has had a marked decrease, they immediately question your motive. They see right through your rhetoric as they know you want one, sense you aren't motivated enough to get one and have chosen to voice your displeasure in a petty quip that says more about you than the economic reality that you are trying to disguise it as.

If you want a GT350 then find one and buy it. If you can't get one at the price you want then you apparently won't be getting one. If you can get a PP2 that meets your performance criteria and at a price you are willing to pay then buy it and be happy. Nobody here is going to poo poo you for your decision so don't do it to them. Everyone here is well aware of the market as well as any hype. They don't need to be reminded.

That’s the thing - I don’t believe he wants one. I still suspect my first reply was correct. His previous sig stated he was deciding between a GT350 or a PP2...then as soon as he makes the decision that he was always going to make - he jumps in here to make himself feel better by trying to insinuate that people are no longer excited about the 350.

Maybe he just wanted to stir up more poo in a new forum section...just ignore, eventually his arms will get tired:

Besides we already have a class clown/instigator in the GT350 section...paging MCarsfan! Someone’s trying to take your job bro! :gossip:
