Personally couldn't care less if they're discounting a GT350 -- but if you look at their site, they have every mustang with $4-7k off. If the salesperson would do that price plus tax and title then that's great. I doubt it's that black and white, though.
It looks like they have a Black GT350 with Blue stripes advertised for $10K over on their site?

You're right - I missed that one. I just scrolled down their list of mustangs http://www.chapmanfordhorsham.com/n...racted=inventory-listing1-facet-anchor-year-1 and noticed they were all showing steep discounts (except that 1).
That general advertisement tactic seems like "oh if you qualify for this or that etc". If you look at the other mustangs they all have rebates that are included in the sale price:

"2017 Ford Mustang GT RWD in Magnetic Metallic. Pricing includes all costs to be paid by consumer except for sales tax, registration, title, and ONLY a $138 Pennsylvania REGULATED documentation fee. Must qualify for ONLY the rebates & incentives listed to receive pricing. Prior sales are excluded. Not all customers qualify for retail incentives. Credit restrictions apply. Pricing includes $500 - Farm Bureau Association eCertificate Offer. Exp. 01/02/2018, $500 - American Quarter Horse Assoc Member Offer. Exp. 01/02/2018, $2,500 - Retail Customer Cash. Exp. 01/02/2018, $500 - Military Appreciation BONUS Cash. Exp. 01/02/2018, $500 - College Student Purchase Program. Exp. 01/02/2018, $500 - First Responder Bonus Cash. Exp. 01/02/2018 $750 - USAA Total Loss Direct Offer Exp. 12/31/2017"

Whereas the two Shelby's do not. I'm thinking the Orange one is either a mistake or a demo or something.. or maybe they're willing to apply all the other stuff you can get off on a regular mustang (see above) because it's a unique color that might be hard to move whereas black isn't. An interested buyer could find out easy enough, obviously. Just call them up and ask to speak to sales manager and ask for a OTD cash price on that vehicle for delivery today.

If I wanted it I would have. I personally hate the new orange. I'm not going to buy a car just to prove some stupid point to you. If someone wants it they can go work out a deal.

You continue to dance around my entire point, so I'll make it clear.

You PRETEND to be potentially shopping for a 350, while you've already picked a PP2. You then come into the 350 section and try to justify your decision by saying that the 350 was overhyped and now is not...by posting a low-price GT350. Horrible thread idea, very transparent and tactless.

Let's say you could actually get that car at that price without jumping through some BS hoops - aren't you being a hypocrite? I mean, if you're suggesting, by this single example, that the prices on all GT350s are $4k+ under MSRP, I think you would be shopping for one, no? Now you've said that you just don't like that color....good, then by your example, you should be able to find one in a color that's acceptable?

FWIW when I was shopping prices for Mustangs - granted they weren't Shelbys - that was a common tactic. "Internet" of "best" prices were often applying EVERY available discount, regardless of whether or not most people were eligible for them. I kept emailing dealerships where they would respond back with "Come in for a test drive etc" - I responded with "This is the car I'm looking for. This is the MSRP. What is your OTD the door cash price before Taxes, Tags and License?" Some would NEVER respond.

One dealer did. Came back with a OTD price before TTL. Called a local dealer with that price. They said "I don't think that price is right." I emailed a scanned copy of the buyer's agreement / sales worksheet. They called me back within an hour and matched the price - actually beat it.

As for the Shelby discussion - as long as someone FEELS Like they got a good deal, and they have the car they want - who cares?

I could have gotten a Shelby - but honestly there were several personal reasons I didn't. The main ones being I'd feel bad - because I was looking for a daily driver. No way I was dropping coin on a new car and driving a beater. What fun is that?

The other reason is I enjoy wrenching / modifying my car to suit ME better. I'd feel bad doing that to a limited production run car like the Shelby. Same reason my next project (when the kid finishes college in a year or so) will be another '67 Chevelle (my first car was a '67 SS Chevelle) but it won't be a SS, because I want to build the car to suit me and paying extra for a limited production is just silly - in my opinion - to turn around and modify it heavily.

1. No I'm not. You're just making things up in your mind.
2. Never said that, again, it's all in your head.
3. How is that hypocritical when the point was the point out a nice deal on a 350?
4. Again, no. I never said that. You REALLY like to make things up in your head.

You REALLY love to make very heavily flawed leaps of logic based on absolutely nothing but what you WANT things to be so that you can bitch about them. Have fun with that. It just makes you look 1) crazy, 2) ignorant.

You said (the point of this thread) that the “hype is over”.

Do you really believe that?

If that means the markups are coming to an end, why is that a problem? People here seem insulted that things may start selling more often at or under MSRP.

I'm still wondering why this thread is 7 pages. If the dealer is offering a discount then that's great ! If its click bait, find out and MOVE ON. I truly do not understand 7 pages of back n fourth of what a car cost, supposed to cost, could cost, and whether anyone actually wanted the car in the first place...

Starting to wonder if the rumors of the GT350 section having eccentric and crazy posters are true.....

I read what you posted and still don't believe that a dealer is selling a newly delivered 2018 GT350 in any color for invoice.

Hell they could have taken it to the auction and gotten more then that!

So, you find one example of an outlier, unbelievable deal (assuming it’s even real), and you start a thread announcing the “hype” is probably over.

I think people are insulted because it appears your thread was more designed TO insult them, describing their purchases as being the result of “hype”, which is defined as:

“promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its importance or benefits.”

Essentially then, trying to make the purchase of the GT350 at, or above, msrp as a sucker’s buy.

Do you see the problem now?

Lol, well, that’s what you did, right? I’m just explaining the poor reaction you’re receiving. And, no, it’s not an ego issue, at least from our side.

He knows what he posted - just 100% backpedaling when he got called on it.

Tactless - but now somehow everyone else has an attitude problem. I’ve met his kind before - it’s always the other guy. I’m done here.
