Do you have any experience with the pedalcommander or pedalmax or sprintbooster to give an opinion? The engineer provided me a graph. Do you have data to support that a tune can reproduce exactly the same results or that the driving manners of the car will be exactly the same? Or that using the pedal commander is equivalent to driving your car in sport mode
Yes, I have tried both a pedal commander and sprintbooster, on multiple platforms. They all function in the same manner.

Yes, I do have a graph that shows the throttle input changes across the normal, sport, and wet/ice drive modes. A tune can either leave these various throttle maps untouched, or modify them to be even more aggressive. Link to three graphs showing each:

Im not doubting the devise adjusts the throttle input ratio - im just saying that is all it does. It doesnt speed up the throttle body, reaction time, etc. You simply get more throttle with less input.

If you don't like a fast car to feel fast without mashing the pedal then this product is not for you. The pedal is lazy, my Lund, Steeda, Prodyno, Roush, and even my current JDM tune only makes it slightly tolerable. Maybe all your cars have been this way, so it means nothing, but this is my first fast car and I bought it because it was fast despite the fact I hated how lazy the throttle response felt (which disrupted my idea of how a fast car should behave). The tunes I purchased to correct this, made the car faster but again only made the throttle response slightly more forgiving, so I was never truly satisfied until I began to use the pedalmax and now the pedal commander, which is even more satisfying. Whatever side of the argument you end up on, don't sacrifice driving experience or your high expectation of the driving experience with how much faster your car is only at WOT.

Perhaps a further refinement in one of your tunes throttle response could net the same results. I don't think anyone is saying that you're not feeling something that you are feeling. I think what they mean is that a tune accomplishes the same action of increasing throttle responsiveness. The degree to which it enhances that responsiveness may be less than what the Pedal Commander does for your car.

You should also admit that a lot of these things are subjective and are usually not without some placebo effect.

You have to explain to me what counts as the throttle body speeding up, or what counts as increasing reaction time, if not the end result on a graph is that you get more throttle with less input. :confused:

While you've shown in the link that's it's possible to make changes to the PCM to generally mimic these add on devices, no tune I'm aware of does it close to the degree the pedalmax and pedal commander does.

I appreciate your question here. What makes it so satisfying is because it makes the car feel like it has a whole lot of low end torque. Low end torque is satisfying. The coyote motor is lacking in this department.

And as you've answered yourself, no tune has done it nearly to the degree that is accomplished with the pedal commander.

Furthermore, what makes pedal commander superior to a tune (in respect to throttle output) is that you have 20 different selectable performance levels to choose from (granted you probably would only notice the differences that are 2 or 3 levels apart). With a tune, you potentially only have one per drive mode for a total of 3 (or 2 for base models) before requiring a PCM flash.

While one person's satisfaction requirement may not be equal to another's, the moderate setting, the high setting, and the peak setting in the pedal commander is objectively different from each other and from the majority of, if not all, tunes.

I have the Pedalmax and the lag is still there. Responsiveness is increased, sure, but I was hoping to get rid of the input lag but have not.

I'm curious what you mean by lag. I can't say I ever experienced lag in mine even though I called it lag when it would take too long for my taste to kick down gears. I can always hear the engine respond to my pedal inputs but again kicking down multiple gears was slow.

The only strange thing I'm noticed in my A6 3.55 gears (and confirmed on another) is that if I go over 79mph (80 or higher) and perform WOT, I can "hear" a response, pause, then a downshift to 4th (and not 3rd during the times it's capable). JDM made changes to improve the limit of the 6-3 kickdown but it seems to only consistently work in sport mode.

Looking at the graph [MENTION=10281]BmacIL[/MENTION] posted (and you should listen to BmacIL cuz dude knows his shit), it's pretty scary how much the Pedal Commander increases throttle position relative to the pedal input. Especially in sport mode, that's crazy IMHO. Also don't forget - while you gain throttle response, you're removing a lot of modulation ability. For instance, at 25% pedal input - you're at 70% and 85% throttle in sport and sport + mode. Then from then on, increases in Pedal input don't really do much at all, especially in sport + mode.

Put simply - put your foot down farther and faster and you'll get the power. I wouldn't want to give up too much throttle modulation because I think it's potentially dangerous and also not so good in a performance driving situation where modulation of throttle is very important. IMHO of course. My Lund tune is already responsive enough where I feel like it's effortless to pass people but not so advanced that all modulation of throttle is out the window.

As some one said earlier, sport mode in the base model even- it already is increasing throttle response above what the Pedal is commanding.

I dont know what constitutes the throttle body speeding up, or what counts as increasing reaction time - those were your words and explanation, not mine. :thumbsup:

This doesn't void your engine warranty like a tune does. That's kind of satisfying.
Not to me. I threw that out early on and glad I did! Never looked back.

This engine is a beast. It can take a lot more thrown at it then just a tune on a otherwise stock car.

And it is a valid point. Good peace of mind for sure. Especially if you happen to get a bad engine or something.

This is what happens when you look at graphs and ignore people's testimonies. Even at Sport +4 mode, it's very manageable. Even at the highest setting Sport+ +4, it requires conscious effort, but it's still manageable. If you ever get the chance to try it out, you'll see just how much better it is to have it than to be without with it. It's like when I said my car was perfect in it's NA form and who needed forced induction. I can't ever go back now. Neither can I own my car without the pedal commander.

Help me if I'm misunderstanding your logic,

Throttle reaction time cannot happen, because Sprintbooster doesn't increase power. Implying that increasing the reaction time of the throttle increases power.
