So I'm posting this here because I thought you suspension guys might be able to give me advice.

The advancetrac in this car is really becoming a nuisance for me. Finally got my suspension sorted and new tires, Lund tune.. the car rips and handles good- but the Advancetrac is ruining all my fun.

I have no problem getting traction off the line now - with or without TCS and Advancetrac. BUT - I cannot go WOT 1-2 shift without the car cutting engine power on me. I can't even do 2-3 shift without it stopping me. Today in Advancetrac Sport Mode- I am in 2nd and get on it, Rev to 7000 RPM (not even full throttle) shift into 3rd and it cuts power on me. Now, granted I was going slightly uphill at the time so I could see how I could lose traction. But seriously cmon. 70 MPH and not even full throttle jeez.

When my car was totally stock, I remember a day when I went WOT 1st to 2nd and nothing but two black lines down the road as I scream like a bat out of hell. Now I can't do that bc Advancetrac will cut power on me. And really even just for having a little bit of fun, the Advancetrac is neutering the car.

Do I seriously need to turn Advancetrac OFF completely every time I get in the car? This is getting ridiculous. Now, I know I could use some wider rims and tires but honestly this shouldn't be happening. I realize I have a bit more power now and the auto tune shifts harder but I'm frustrated all the same.

Ford does say in the owners manual that any changes to suspension/wheels/tires etc. can effect how the Advancetrac operates. Maybe I have modded my car to the point where it does not work properly. Yet in all other manners of driving, the TCS and Advancetrac appears to be working just fine and as intended.

I shouldn't need wider tires just to keep Advancetrac from shutting me down- on a car with stockish horsepower. The car has great traction - UNTIL I shift up. That momentary traction loss is tripping the stability control to cut the throttle.

Possible solutions: ask tuner to soften my auto tune shifts significantly. Wider tires eventually. Keep TCS and Advancetrac off altogether (at least when it's dry and warm). I need a simple fix that doesn't involve money, or not a lot of it. Any thoughts?

Maybe it's cutting power because you hit the redline (at 7000 rpm).

I've been past 7000 before. But regardess, it has cut power on me earlier too. Even 6000 RPM it has cut power on me.

I am experiencing the exact same problem! I have a 3.15 A6 tuned by AED. AED also ups the shift line pressure by a lot. Shifts very hard on WOT. So my TC light blinks every time I shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd WOT. I have 285 re71R tires and it still barks the tires on these shifts - hence causing TC to come on. Annoying on the road course. How have you dealth with it so far? I prefer not to turn off TC on the road course because I'm not up to that skill level yet to have zero nannies.

Unplug the jumper plug on the cable next to the airbox. Advancetrac permanently disabled.

See also "dyno mode".

Edit: I only unplug mine when at the track or autox. The car is plenty fast enough and fun enough with it in normal mode on the street.

No. Better tires definitely "helped" but my best advice is to ask AED to lower your shift pressure. It's that momentary loss of traction caused by the gear shift that's doing it.

I have noticed: Advancetrac sport mode makes it worse. I feel like it lets the car get enough out of shape that it cuts power completely.

When I want to go fast, I turned TC off or I turn off Advancetrac system completely.

I always find myself turning the car to track mode and turning AT completely off every time I drive the car. AT does interfere by pulling a fat gob of timing and the car falls on its face.

With me it's not obvious wheel spin that sets it off. I can be in end gear and gradually roll into WOT and as soon as the boost comes in AT says no.

Upshifts used to really upset my car also. Bad fishtailing and traction control coming on.

Once I did the BMR cradle lockout, diff bushings, and shocks/springs it helped a huge amount. I think the cradle lockout and diff bushings made most of the difference.
