This was brought up in another thread but I wanted to try to catch the attention of more people who own this type of seat. Finally got to sit in one of the Recaro-equipped Shelbys yesterday and it was beyond uncomfortable. It doesn't help that I'm 6'4 and 235. It fit my 5'9 120lb wife perfectly.

So those of you who opted for the leather power seats out there, especially the '16 guys who have had them for a minute now, how are they holding up? A guy replied in the longer thread about the seats being discontinued that they are already breaking down on him. Or any insight on the quality of the materials? Someone else alluded to the leather being thin and cheap. I know this is no Mercedes or BMW, but I would like for the seats to last a while.

I use my 16 Tech Pack as a daily driver and have almost 14,000 miles. I see no signs of wear or deterioration and my seats are like new, as I would expect them to be.
For me, with the combination of materials and design of the seat, I couldn't imagine a better seat for this car. For reference I am 5'11" and 215 pounds.

I've had my car since October 2016 and the seats still look as new as the day I got them. Currently at about 4400 miles.

I daily my car and find these seats to be the most perfect mix of sporty grip/comfort of any car I have owned. My only issue would be that the seatbelt is on an angle that can rub on the side of the neck.

Thanks for all the input guys! Looks like I need to find something on the lot or hope Ford releases the convenience seats again. Not looking good for the latter though unfortunately.

I don't think you will find the sofa seat that much better. We'll see what 2018 will bring

I agree. I have 5,600 miles on my car. I have noticed a little wear on the bolster. When I get in the car now I place my hand on it so it is not rubbed.

I've sat in both. The sofa seat fit perfectly. The rigid bolsters on the Recaro were what was causing the problem.

FWIW, the Recaro's "wear in" after a few hundred miles and fit a little looser. Probably not going to be game changing tho.

This. Getting in when you are in a tight spot and can't open the door all the way can be a little trouble some. I have some wear on the bolster. Also be careful of jeans or belts with metal as it can scratch the seats a little.
