Anyone else notice that the rear tires on the one with the GT350R spoiler stick out of the fenders? I can't tell from the pics, but there's only two things that cause that. Wider tire/wheel package and offset. If it's offset, could the new specialty car have wider rear hips like the Fisker Mustang Rocket?

i did notice that...it would be amazing if they halo car came with fender flares...even though guys are fitting 345s under stock stuff haha. maybe they are going to run a wider tire and they only had a certain offset earlier model wheel or low offset aftermarket wheel to test with, after running through multiple sets of tires while testing :shrug:

That's pretty much how a stock R looks from behind. My tires ease out a hair from the fenders.

There is a on again off again rumor about a 7 Liter version of the 6.2L Boss engine family.
Wondering if Ford has put this motor into the Stang?

I think if this is the car to overtake the zl1 they need to name it the shelby gt-550! Also ford had a ton of r&d with twin turbos ie : The ecoboost, therefore it should be a twin turbo set up! 800 hp is not unrealistic with this set up and it will beat up on the Dodge Demon!!!

dude even worse its a "dodge challenger hellcat demon". so its an "avoid, contesting, pissy kitty, fire devil"? and to think people once made fun of a ford mustang cobra :lol:

I have reason to believe BOTH prototypes are two separate Ecoboost designs.

The guys that got pictures also have video and claim it wasn't Supercharged.

I know there is a Supercharged V8 that was in R&D but I do not think it is destined for the GT500/GT500KR twins.

I do believe the car in Detroit is being fitted with a S/C (replacing the Ecoboost) to begin the 2019 Testing Cycle. The car we seen at the garage will be back and forth between Roush and Ford Performance, getting outfitted for, what some are saying the last Supercharged factory Mustang...

It is also a rumor that every 5 years (2019, 2024, 2029) will be Mustang's Birthday and Throwback models. I kinda like that idea... it would operate outside of the GT/GT350/GT500 lineup and would drive enthusiast insane with anticipation. Boss, Bullett, Mach 1, Cobra Jets/Cobra... provided towards the end of each generation to rekindle interest AND final year sales.

There were definitely two cars testing that day. Interestingly, there are no shots of the front end of the car with the R spoiler and camo on the rear bumper. :shrug:

I'm willing to bet it's the new front facia. Look at where the outline of the cover is pushing into the headlight, it makes the perfect shape of the 18 redesign. Overlap them, I bet it's a perfect match.

Hood bulges don't always mean SC... they also mean cooling exits or intake routing (cowl induction). Twin turbos in the s550 would require a significant packaging alteration to the current configuration of the car. That's different than the single turbochargers used on most cars, or the luxurious mid/rear engine packaging of exotics with twin turbos.

We shall see though. I'm now giving up totally on the TT effort yet.

It could also mean they are looking at a "Hot-V" Bi-Turbo setup in the engine valley similar to M-B.
