Worth pointing out......this would appear to be a different prototype from the first one, posted in this thread.

The first one didn't have a rear wing and the rear bumper didn't have any cow-camo :)

Also worth pointing out, they are ahead of schedule:)

Nobody is reading the link that topnotch provided.
It could be the best of both worlds and much lighter than a supercharger.

For a we know this thing could provide the same level of power as a TT but be much better over all. Sounds like it would fit right in with new tech which ford is always trying to install in new performance vehicle power plants... makes them more unique...more cool.
Is it kind of like compound boost, where the CVT helps the supercharger? :headbonk:

Hood bulges don't always mean SC... they also mean cooling exits or intake routing (cowl induction). Twin turbos in the s550 would require a significant packaging alteration to the current configuration of the car. That's different than the single turbochargers used on most cars, or the luxurious mid/rear engine packaging of exotics with twin turbos.

We shall see though. I'm now giving up totally on the TT effort yet.
Not to mention the intake path and the intake itself for a TT Mustang would see the need for at least a slight hood modification.

Agreed... I'm at 2200 miles and it feels well broken in now. Great truck!

The more I read that article the more I think it will be an S650 addition, but who knows. Yeah, from what I gather it's exclusive to cvt, so that may exclude the SE currently.

I read the article yesterday, good read and possible. I believe Audi just released a production vehicle with both the SC and electric turbo. I'll see if I can find the article.

A Hot V Twin or BiT Turbo system DOES in fact sit on top of the engine.

The prototype with fender gills and a low hood could be equipped with a Parallel BiTurbo. This is not the Hot V Twin Turbo like BMW. Here is Merc's version:

http://jalopnik.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-amg-gts-510-hp-bi-1610743784

If they are comparing it to the ZL1LE, maybe they are using the TT3.5 from the FGT. But, judging from the extended front fascia, I'd say a larger intercooler was used on the "KR" version.

The buldging hood could be a Supercharged V8 or, a Hot V Turbo like BMW used.

All in all, it could be an EB dual scrolling Turbo on the GT500 and, a Parallel twin turbo or a Cobra Jet variant, almost similar to AMG's BiT. There is a huge difference in the 5.5 and 4.0.

For the record, GM has made no official announcements pertaining to the mid engine Corvette (to my knowledge), similar to Ford. Don't try to make it out like Ford is the only brand that is playing keep away with information about upcoming products, because they aren't.
Perhaps not but the spy shots tell the tale of a mid engine vette in the works. It's not that they're playing it close to their chest, I get that, but I would've thought that they would have revealed some specialty car (mustang?) by now.

I would. It would look sweet next to my '67. ;)

Base it on the Mustang and make it sexy, and the Lincoln name wouldn't bother me a bit.
Would something like this do?

How about a Gran Torino?

At the low numbers topnotch mentioned, I don't think there would be a problem with epa. There are enough others gas sippers sold that they could do it. Problem is at 100k and 30k+ adm. Maybe make it an application process and even still, insiders and gen 2 GT buyers would get first shot haha.
Chevy is working on a large displacement engine as well. Some say to put in the mid engine. I think it's going in the new z28.
This is real and it's going to happen. Boss 429... start saving some dough.
God I hope you're right. A Boss 9 would be unreal!

Anyone else notice that the rear tires on the one with the GT350R spoiler stick out of the fenders? I can't tell from the pics, but there's only two things that cause that. Wider tire/wheel package and offset. If it's offset, could the new specialty car have wider rear hips like the Fisker Mustang Rocket?
