To be fair, GM sells more trucks then Ford due to many choices. With GM you have the Silverado, Sierra, Canyon, and Colorado. With Ford you only have the F series. So if you want a Ford, well you have one choice. If you want a GM, well some choose the Silverado while other may like the look of the GMC Sierra, but if you want a truck but don't want a full size, then the Canyon and Colorado is a option. Like with anything out there, the more choices there are, the numbers will be more spread out.
Think as you like but you can not combine chevy and gmc truck sales. The f series outsells them. Sometimes the f series outsells them combined. Gmc and chevy are two different brands. Just like Lincoln and ford.
Ford also out sells chevy / gmc in the van category.
You do know the f series is the best selling vehicle in the USA correct?

Sorry? You think different?

How does an engine rated at 505hp
And another at 526hp even come close? The z28 made 469 if I remember correctly where the R made 471
That's basic math. Are we to believe the z28 has a more efficient drivetrain?
Explain how the z28 has a 7% loss
The R has a 10.5% loss.

For the z to make 469 hp it would need 525 hp crank at the same 10.5%
Good thing GM cheated and still lost. That extra 20 hp didn't do any good.

Read the article as they give many reasons why this could happen. Much more miles on Z. The Z could have a little better efficient drive train. The temps were 100 degrees and they felt the higher Reving gt350 was more effected then the Z. The cars could only run 91 octane and the GT350 hp is based off 93 and I believe the z is 91. But what ever it is, it was less then 4%.

Not buying it. I also do not agree the z28 has a more efficient drivetrain. Did you forget about the 3160 weight reduction and the carbon fiber wheels?

I totally agree that the F series is the best selling as a single brand. as a side question, how do you think sales would be if Lincoln made a L series truck?

You could take two gt350 to the same Dyno and get different numbers. Dyno are not the authority.

Yes I know this. But when I prototyped the headers for ARH for the GT350 at watson racing, they dynoed over 17 GT350/R and all were within 5hp. I wouldn't expect you to agree since your a chevy guy.

I feel I'm more a enthusiast. I just don't like it when GM does good, there considered cheaters, then when they get beat, there considered a POS. They all bring good things to the table, just in different ways and taste. I raced off road for many years and been in many heated discussions about Honda and Yamahas, so this isn't any different.

I'm just not agreeing they didn't up the tune on the MotorTrend z28.

He's desperate. That's like saying the camaro & firebird out sell the mustang.
Let's see, why not add the camaro, firebird & corvette and go against the mustang sales. :frusty:
That's why Mustang didn't killed both camaro and firebird in 2002

Ok I lost any respect I had for you. This is about the dumbest thing I ever read from you. Ford out sells chevy trucks every year since 1977. Also in Canada.
You didn't say anything about Chevy. You said GM vs Ford. And GM sells more trucks than Ford does about 50 percent of the time.

So gm is rating the ls7 505hp motors on 91 oct now? It would look worse if they rated at 505hp on 93 and the ran 91oct at 532hp(469 at 12% loss). That's huge increase over the oem tune.

Not surprised at all.

For the longest time I wouldn't touch a ford truck.

They were just dogs in power and chassis.

They've finally gone with a boxed frame and have better engine choices than in the past.

They have finally started making a decent truck imo.

I've had two rock solid GMCs, a 1500 and now a 2500HD.
