I've been to a few demolition derbys but never seen the motorhomes. That I have to see!

Has anyone installed a set of Catted Headers on the PP2 package yet? Curious if this would help with the pinging issues and possibly free up some restrictions. I would take a guess it would be "fine" to run headers on the tune. But thats just a guess

Wildcatgoal you removed your pp2 and went back to stock correct? To upload your stock tune did you hit the restore button on the programming tab or did you go through and pull up the performance tune file and load that again? From what i read is once the performance tune has been successfully programmed the original stock tune now sits in that same file.

I go in Wed to have this installed. Nervous as ... hope it goes well. Im headed to Napa today to get the 3/8 straight connector just in case.

I had to open the software they give, load the tune file, then restore my original tune.

Taking my mustang in on Thursday to have my pp2 installed. Been going back and forth with the dealership about using my laptop to install the tune. They are trying to tell me it doesn't save the stock tune and not to worry. I told them it does and if for some reason I want to remove the pp2 I will need my stock tune to re-flash the vehicle. Then I was told they don't need the stock tune from the car to re-flash it if I want to remove the pp2, they can just get it through ford anytime.

My thoughts are I'm sure they can but for a fee... Starting to wondering if the hassle of having the dealership install the my pp2 is worth the 8 months which is left on my warranty.

Go to another dealer who won't argue with you about it. It is YOUR tune. Not theirs.

Download it yourself with your account to YOUR computer. Then register it. Then tell them... it's on my computer... no choice.

I created a ford performance account the night before the dealer installed. I then provided the dealer the login and password as well as a flash drive to save everything on.

I see you're in Redondo Beach. What dealership is this? I called South Bay Ford in Hawthorne about an install and they referred me to Galpin

LOL!! Yeah, I thought the service manager at South Bay Fords was pretty cool. Until I asked about install my PP2 kit. He told me they wont install it and if they see it on my car they will void the warranty.

I said well I guess I wont be coming back anytime soon.

You are probably going to laugh but I am giving Autonation Ford on PCH a try. I spoke with the manager of the service department. He said the car would still be under warranty not to worry. I told him I am very particular when it comes to my car.

He schedule me with their mechanic who is SVT certified (If that really makes a different). Installing the PP2 kit isn't rocket science. Personally if it wasn't for the warranty I would do it myself. I asked how much he said ~$260 so not bad at all.

I will let you know how it goes. My last resort was taking the car to Galpin but its just so far.

So they were able to use your account and then transfer the stock tune onto the flash drive? Have you loaded it back on your laptop? I was unaware this was an option.

If you were putting your money on the line, potentially $11,000+, based on the install of said throttle body..would you prefer to require it be done yourself or trust someone else?

Haha Autonation Ford was my next call. Let me know how it goes! I'm hoping all goes well. The $260ish isn't too bad!
