Thanks! The bolt does not drop to the splines like on the OEM strut. Shop did recommend sourcing new bolts but I didn't think I had to with this kit. Wondering if anyone with these coils sourced new bolts or ran the OEM. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't seem like a commonly used setup on S550's...
GC did offer to enlarge the holes but warned that it could cause unwanted clunks or noises since the current holes are supposedly drilled to OEM spec.
Yeah, GC uses a stainless steel insert (second pic) in the upper hole to adjust for camber. You'll notice the little marker tab near the top...
Thanks for confirming that it doesn't sound right. That could be a possibility. GC gave me the "We've sold plenty of kits without an issue" line so perhaps. Unfortunately, I will most likely just look into another set of coils.
I went to have a complete set of GC coilovers installed but it looks like the strut holes are too small for the OEM strut bolts. Spoke with GC and they said they were a tight fit and should be forced on there using air tools. That doesn't seem right at all? The shop even refused to install...
