Is anyone using a bolt in harness application like the Schroth Rallye 4? I believe Sparco makes something similar?

Yea not sure. First harness I have had and it is so nice not to have to hold on to the wheel to keep you in your seat. The harness along with the recaros reduce fatigue greatly.

I think most serious racers are against 4pt harnesses and harness bars in general.

But who the heck knows.

Safety is the one area I don't skimp on.

I'd rather stay OEM 3pt vs harness bar/4pt personally speaking.

On my 16', I run Watson Roll bar, Cobra Suzuka GT and Schroth Profi 6 Hans. I just feel more comfortable and safe knowing I have proper hardware.

Maybe an engineer can chime in?

4 points can use the stock seat or belt attachment points, a 5 point....better, but that center mounting point will need a hole drilled into the body

The Schroth 4 point harnesses are designed with "ASM" technology. Anti-SubMarine. In a wreck a small section gives way on one side to allow your upper body to move forward a bit, similar to how your stock 3 point belt works. This keeps you from sliding under the belt. I run the Schroth Quick-Fit Pro in my car.

Putting in a 5 point harness and just not using the sub strap is a big mistake and could easily result and someone getting injured badly in a wreck. I won't ride in a car that's set up like that.

Next thing you'll want is a HANS. That should need no explanation.

From the research I did, it seemed that you either changed the whole car (cage, 5pt+, etc.) or kept the car as is for the "best" safety. Not to say that someone could install the Schroth 4 for a snugger fit in the seat - but this isn't the "safest". Something something in a roll-over, the Schroth would keep you straight and the existing frame is meant to bend so there would be trouble. Heck even air bags and helmets don't mix very well.

Very pleased with mine the one time I used them since new. Schroth Quick Fit Pro. Went with the shoulder pads as well(not pictured). Going with the roll bar now so they will be for sale very soon.

I was going to run one of the certified Schroth harnesses but have decided on just a lock on the lap belt to try to keep my hips planted for now.

I really could use the upper body support of twin shoulder belts but haven't found anything I like. I'll probably wait to put a bar in the car next year and go from there.

Incorrect, this is why the schroth harness plus into your existing buckle.

It works with your airbag system. It's also asm compliant, it's designed to give you some give so that you aren't stuck in an accident

Haha... try going around a track in the regular seats... sometimes you feel like you're going to fly out the damn window. Biggest regret is not getting Recaros... and breaking up with Jessica Alba. One of those is true.

Do you have Recaros? I do and still find that I have to use the steering wheel to hold myself in place, especially on longer sweeping turns. I was just thinking something like the Schroth Rallye 4 would help keep me better planted in my seat. I might give it a try just to see if it makes a noticeable difference.

BTW, I think you and cjgt350 are going to TWS next month with the group from OK? I will be there as well!
