I bet with the hoods closed the stock box would be within 3hp. This test Confirms track results I have seen, headers are the best bang for the buck mod.. Thanks for the info!

This makes me less and less interested in getting a tune. I don't plan on going headers so it's very small gains.

.... Math? Purely wondered on how you arrived at that conclusion? I thought the original argument was the Open/Closed debate. I accept the results on the open hood, just wondered why the original idea was scrapped. All in all, glad that the results finally showed that the difference is negligible.

It was scrapped due to the first pulls difference not being that much and the amount of dyno pulls were! lol

Just for the simple test there was 26 total......

Wouldn't that put the OEM box at a complete disadvantage?
That is what shocked me. The Lund tune with stock box 381! You get way more hp from a tune than an intake. That was unexpected for me.

Not to say once the headers where added that the intakes became way more of a factor.

It would have been interesting to put the stock intake back on with the full exhaust.

I paid $500 total for a lund flex tune and used SCT x4. I don't know the exact numbers but I can guarantee I gained AT LEAST 30-35whp. The car is nowhere near comparable to stock now. I'd definitely say a tune is worth it. I'd say anything after a tune is questionable. Headers get great results but aren't exactly cheap because the cost of headers + install unless you plan on tackling it yourself.

Is that on E85 or 93? I'm not interested in trying to find E85 around here.

I'm in Plainfield and most of the speed way gas stations have e85. A few others near me to, but I'm not sold on e85 without doing injectors. Thinking just going FI with a tune.

Yep, I could find a station with E85, but nearly every one within a couple miles of my home or my commute does not have it. Plus, I do not want to fill up as often as E85 would make me, because of the much poorer fuel economy, nor do I want do go to higher rate injectors either.

Some people need to understand that a 14 whp gain on one dyno might show 30 whp or even more on another dyno. That dyno seems to be a really conservative one. Even if you add headers it might bump it up to maybe couple of whp's who knows. My guess is a highflow drop in filter with modular intake tube might put down similar results to a cai when the hood is closed. The numbers are pretty close to each other.

Thats what the shop stated. They say the tuner said their dyno "has always been stingy."

Looks like like I'm 10-15 behind other cars???? I just use it as a tool. I'm still happy as heck!

When I get a chance to take it to the track, hopefully it will pull a decent MPH and that will/could shed more light on the numbers.
