Also... Does an Android phone have to be plugged in for it to work? I thought the beauty of AA was that it would function over Bluetooth.

I jsut ordered a HC3Z-19A387-B USB hub. it is a 2 port hub from an F150 but is the same size and has the same connectors as the one in our console. Hey if it works it will be cool to be the first 2016 msutang owner that has the hacked 2.2 upgrade and Carplay

Well the HC3Z-19A387-B is on back order with no ETA. The parts guy at the dealer said GJ7Z-19A387-B is the same part only with a white light Vs Blue. I had him swap me over since it is in stock and I should have it Friday or Saturday so I can confirm if CarPlay works with this Sync version and that hub.

Count me in for another successful update. I've got factory nav. Install went flawlessly without errors.

Also, for reference, this is what my "Media Hub" USB port looks like. Looks to be the same size and shape as the GJ7Z-19A387-B.

I'd definitely do the white, it's just the little collar light around the port, right?

FWIW, the image of that part# on a few sites is some kind of dual port, not sure where/how that's supposed to mount[?]

Pretty straight forward

you just need to pull the usb hub in your armrest, unplug it and plug the new one instead (I assume) and put it back in place

took me literally two seconds last night. Either a trim tool or a very small bladed screwdriver on the side and it pops right out

Oh yeah, I didn't realize the armrest USB port had such a large bezel/mounting plate that matches that dual port part above!

Heck, that looks simple, even if it's white it's hidden. I just completed my update, worked as expected - I don't see any new features other than the AA icon in settings (and I'd assume a CP icon with the proper hub[?])

Thanks a lot, I just ordered one too. Since this part has 2 usb jacks, do you think both will work, along with the one in front of the shifter?
