Why did you pick a Shelby?

Ok everyone....Why did you pick the Shelby over the S550?

I finally figured out why I like the Shelby better. It's the lower front fascia, especially the area around the fog lamps. To me, the Shelby's just looks cleaner and more menacing. I like how the vertical splitters are slanted inwards vs the S550 being outwards.

I'm not much of a gearhead and I know the Shelby is probably purchased more by those who race. But give me some info...what, to you, makes the Shelby a better purchase?

The colors for MY 18 are great - Kona Blue or Lightning blue? that would be a tough choice. Ford's always had the best color palette, then Dodge. Chevy needs to offer more colors for our cars.

Just to be pedantic.........the Shelby still is an S550. They all are.....V6/Ecoboost/GT/Shelby....

Why pick one over the GT? I would suspect uprated suspension and a certain 5.2 flatplane crank V8 would be the main reasons ;)

Because I grew up in Detroit and my dad worked for Ford in the Dyno room back in the 60's. Owned an original 66 Shelby GT 350. There was no way I wasn't buying one. It's just car crazy is all I can say. No medical professional could have prevented this. But I did stay @ a Holliday inn express and found one for MSRP.

Previous owner of several generations of M3. I like the S550 body style, and when I saw the 350 testing on the ring and read about it, I ordered one sight unseen from local dealer. I must say I am not disappointed. Everything about the car is equal or exceeds the M cars. Agile, feels lighter than it is. Grip and braking are excellent. And the engine!!! A blast to drive, but rarely get to rev all the way out in daily driving

I don't know if it's a fair comparison to all the other trims of S550 since it's basically irrelevant IMO. I just replaced my Maserati Granturismo MC with this beast and it also beaten my other candidate which is Alfa Romeo 4C. I have already paid the deposit for the 4C in the morning until I got a phone call that a Ford dealer nearby just got one into shop several hours later. Drove the Shelby back the same day without any regret.

I picked the Shelby because of what it offered at the price point. I wanted a track car Id have no reason to modify with a warranty. I wasn't interested in the other trims but in hind site I probably should of been considering them I was just never a mustang guy.

I think the Shelby also looks quite a bit better in the front.

I've always been fond of Mustangs, ever since riding in my best friend's dad's '66 Mustang as a little kid in the '70s. But I've never owned one until now.

The design of the S550 really got me seriously thinking about buying a Mustang for the first time in my life. I thought a GT PP would do very nicely. But when the Shelby came out, that was it, love at first sight (& sound). I was pretty much sold after watching Ford's first video of the GT350, just the sound of that exhaust alone was to die for. And the look of the Shelby just took the design of S550 to the next level. Then when all the reviews and accolades started rolling in, I knew I had to have one. It was clear that the Shelby was more than just a pretty face, more than just the FPC Voodoo engine, and more than the sum of its parts. For me, it's the total package and the car just has the "it" factor.

No other car was offered with a unique, naturally aspirated, high revving V8 for its price range, pure and simple. The car looking as good as it does is a bonus.

One of the last (I hope I am wrong) RWD, 6 Speed, NA high-revving V8 sports cars produced.

I would have considered the Grand Sport also, but never been much of a Corvette guy.
