I'd actually prefer a smaller Mustang with a suspension still being used widely in the aftermarket and with an available V8. The '73 was ok, but '74 much better in my opinion. I'm not on that bandwagon that says there was a problem with the Mustang II - other than the anemic engines. I blame the low power output on the government and those people that voted that government into power, though. It wasn't Ford's fault. That's what the guys said who passed on a '73 Mustang to get the '74 2nd gen.
Frankly I think the current Mustang is a little big and bloated as well. I hope to see it getting smaller soon. I can't say I want smaller engines or better fuel economy though. I 100% disagree with those that think burning gas is somehow wrong or that it damages the environment.
