1/4" ratchet is your friend in this case. I also used the "pass through" sockets and ratchet you can get from Lowes.

I just used a 1/4" ratchet with extension but I did remove battery and tray. Only took a few minutes and made things much easier. You think that bolt is tough wait until you get to the pick up tube bolt. Total nightmare.

Have any suggestions if you were to do it again.

Yep. Dropping the oil pan might have been easier. That one bolt took 4 hours.:frusty:

Hmmm my post disappeared. Anyway, you absolutely need a ratcheting box wrench. Place a towel in the pan below the bolt and just take it slow. Took me 20 minutes to remove. Now the fun part. I used a small wire wrapped around the bolt to hold it in place while I was able to slowly get the bolt started with the pad of my finger tips. Very frustrating endeavor. Took over 30 minutes to get it back in.

After removing battery tray, was easy to remove, the pick up tube bolt was pretty straight forward, I have small fingers so I could place one finger from the back and one from the front and rotate it slowly and was back on in 10min

Down side of having Gorilla hands like mine. However there are other benefits. :D

I went and got a adapter so I can use any socket on it like that, worked great!!
While the swivels are nice, they add extra length. These don't so in those situations where you don't have the room for that extra joint, these are nicer.

My tool for the bastard oil pump pick up tube bolt. Made life so easy. As i can fit it under the crankshaft snout and get a really good turn on it.
