I was reading the threads and saw BmacIL (thanks for the info below ) mention he is exploring the GT350R springs as an option for handling with a minimum drop (BMR's SP083 has a 1.2 inch front and half inch rear drop. That is the most modest drop I've seen in the handling category, and likely the fronts wont work for me due to my commute situation. :-(

Has anyone installed the GT350R springs on their GT? Is the info below correct and how were the driving impressions?

GT350R/Front spring/Part Number: FR3Z-5310-M/240 rate/.67inch drop

GT350R and TP/Rear Left/Part Number: Part Number: FR3Z-5560-S/914 rate/9mm or .35 inch drop. We have to use two of the rear left GT350R springs (same as GT350 TP for the rears) due to how the springs are wound apparently.

Also, do we need the rear seats?

Interesting... these are stiffer than half the springs on the spring rate thread and must less of a drop. Interesting.

I know there is a thread on using GT350 shocks, think they came to the conclusion that it takes some custom work to make this happen. Wondering if you can ditch the struts/shocks and use aftermarket struts/shocks with the GT350 springs.

I believe Rebellion is trying them out. GT350R springs lower ~20 mm. The GT350 left rear is the S suffix.

I personally am looking at GT350R fronts unless BMR Tech comes out with some min drop springs with Handling spring rates.

The GT350 monotube front struts bolt up with no problems and match well with 250-300 lb/in fronts. This is the direction I'm planning on going with.

Yes, that is correct. I have the M's on order (GT350R front springs). The rears are BMR 85's and FR track dampers all around. The idea is to have stiffer springs and dampers with a minimum drop and some rake.

We plan on testing this winter on track with Koni's. We can package this for a reasonable amount without getting into quality coil over territory. Again our focus is not DD, it is high value track day performance. I have spoken with individuals who set up race quality coil overs and although it is no benefit to them they have stated that this combination will work well for track day duty.

Thanks Rebellion. Any reason why you are not going for the GT350R rears as well?

I'm on the fence on what to do. I have an unused/in the box BMR SP083 (which is the package of front and rear handlings). Option 1 is sell the fronts and go GT350R, option 2 is sell the whole thing and go with GT350R fronts and rears.

Or keep the rears and try both. The rates are different enough that you will see a difference.

I didn't go with them because of potential fitment issues (the seats, or anti-squeaks, as ford calls them) and I was too concerned with the front/rear rate balance.

If you already have an 83 set, why would you go to the GT350R setup? My main problem with those was the drop. What dampers do you plan to use?

So if you wanted to go with Koni's, you would need to get GT350 front and GT rears with GT350R front springs and BMR SP085 rear springs?

Is the valving going to be an issue on the shocks and struts? Rebound is adjustable and I'm sure you can play with the settings to get them balance out. What about compression though?

If I remember correctly, MustangCollector has tried the 85 with Koni's...he said it handled well but was too stiff for DD.

Now this is exciting. Cannot wait to see laps times vs. the stock GTPP:D

Hmm... this is the only spring that comes close to matching the spring rate for the GT350 rear spring. In a way, it is somewhat better for folks that want to minimize the rake on their car as the drop is almost dead on with the 0.61" drop from the GT350 front springs.

I presume you could go with something softer in the rear but now you are messing with the ratios and will change handling characteristics. I'm thinking if you are ok with going from 160/165 up front to 240 in the front, a stiff ride isn't your concern.

You can always use our SP083 Handling springs - with the new front spacers that Steeda is claiming to be releasing soon. ;)

Stiff rates...1" or less overall drop. Boom.

I need advice

I decided to do GT350 front Struts and keeping PP mono rear shocks so now I need the best springs to pair it with. I want best handling and something stiff for track and some daily driving.
