I am getting transmission noise through my shifter in the lower gears. Sounds like an old worn out transmission, if anyone is familiar with that type of sound. Mine is only in the lower gears. I have not noticed it in 5th or 6th. Anyone else have this?

Hey Mike-Can you describe what you're hearing a little more? Clunk? Grind? Clack? Are you experiencing this when the cars cold, warm? If anything I might run by your dealer if they're open today to pick a techs brain or even take them for a spin around the block to see if they're able to reproduce this with you in the car!

It's kind of a hiss through the shifter. Sounds like a transmission with worn forks.

I know this is a strange question how do you hold your shifter? I noticed when shifting if iI have all fingers around the shifter and thumb on top I have a noise on mine but if I just shift on the ball only I dont notice the noise. Strange response I know.

No, I know what you mean. That's exactly the noise I hear, but I'm not touching it at the time.

Hmmm, wow I was thinking it was just that noise transfer, but sounds like you might have to get it serviced.

Have you spoken with your dealer about the noise, Mike? I recommend making a service appointment; use this to do so. Send me a PM with your full name, best contact number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealer; let's see how I can help get that hiss quieted.

Mine has made a low volume rotational noise through the shifter since day 1. It hasn't gotten any worse so I'm ignoring it. If it gets louder I'll investigate.

same issue, ford says they can't hear the noise, but it just started a week ago. They told me not to worry but not sure that answer works for me. Any update on this?

Same thing since day one.Almost two years now and have much more solid mounts for engine and trans. Sound is present in gear or whenever the clutch is not pressed in. Talked to my local shop and they said it sounds like a noisy throwout bearing. Never took it apart and its has not gotten any louder, when I'm driving you can't hear it over the exhaust or music. My drive train is noisy so is just about every thing in this car but its a mustang.

Have you been able to bring it in to a different Ford Dealer for a second opinion, [email protected]? Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes/ears may help resolve your concerns. Let me know if you do.

Mine makes a little noise too. I chalk it up to being a manual tranny in a performance car. I'm sure it's normal.

Mine started at around 5 hundred miles. At low speeds there's a noticeable hum coming through the shifter..if I grab it tightly it goes away..
BTW its a 16 pp

I guess this is normal, but kinda bothersome. Btw your list of toys is damn impressive!
