So recently I've been heavily considering installing headers on my car, now my question is do headers make the cold start any louder. I am asking this because I already have the Corsa Xtreme cat back on my car and it's already pretty loud on cold starts and it's already somewhat pushing it with my neighbors, while non have expressed any complaints so far but I fear that if I instal headers it would make the cold starts louder than they already are and would cause problems with my neighbors. So if anyone already has the same cat back on their car and have installed headers at later time was the cold start considerably louder than with the cat back only or is it only a minimal difference that would not be noticeable by most people. Also is their any other things that I should think about before installing the header, things like warranty, tuning the car, or other problems that I might face if I decide to go and get the headers. Thanks in advance!

Yes, cold starts with headers and that exhaust will make your neighbors hate you

I'd say so. If you have a tune, and you really should with headers, they should be able to tune out the high cold start idle.

Yes, you can add resonators and or better mufflers to quiet it down but LT's even with cats will be loud with the Corsa Xtreme. I would not have my setup with LT's, no cats and MBRP street with a daily driver. Starting my car every morning at 6:30am would definitely get old to my neighbors. Luckily mine is a weekend car and I usually start it later in the morning once or twice a week. I would have to add something to quiet it down if I needed to daily it.

Okay, would a tune like that have an adverse effects on the engine since its limiting its idle when it would naturally want to idle higher?

Damn cause my car is a daily driver, I don't turn on my car before 7:30 since my earliest class would ever be is 9 am.

Its really loud. I had them tune out the cold start for the most part of my car its not as bad as it was stock. I mean you'd start it up it was so loud you could hear it blocks away lol. I love it but I don't drive it everyday so its not a concern of mine. If I was in a condo or some apartment complex I'm sure i'd be getting letters of hate.

This is my car might give you an idea since you have the xtremes already.

You can somewhat get around the harshness of a cold start by immediately putting the car in gear instead of letting it idle when you start it. The sound level will drop quickly, though it won't make it totally quiet. It's not a perfect solution but at least the deafening part will only last a few seconds. You still have to deal with babying it out of the neighborhood.

When I start mine up with my headers (Kook's), I keep the garage door down for a little bit until the loud, high idle goes down. I never got any complaints from the neighbors and probably never will, but holy sh*t that thing's loud when I first start it up.

Not at all. The high idle cold start is just there to heat up the cats for emissions. Doesn't hurt a thing.

One thing to think about with headers is whether or not you have emissions testing or inspections in your area. Most headers (even with cats) will trigger a CEL, which can be turned off by your tuner. However, if your state requires an OBD check as part of inspection or emissions testing, the CEL or the tuner turning off the rear O2 sensors will cause your car to fail. Some states have a visual inspection as well, so you might want to check into that as well. My state requires an OBD check, so I went with Kooks green catted headers as they're not supposed to trigger a CEL. My tuner could then give me an "emissions compliant tune" that doesn't turn the rear O2 sensors off so the car will pass inspection.

And yes, it's loud on cold start and full throttle. Going under overpasses or passing cars and barriers full throttle with the windows down is borderline painful, lol! I have Kooks 1 3/4 green catted headers with a Borla S-Type catback.
