Hey gang
So for a year and a half, I've been trying to decide if I want to do anything to my exhaust. Fact is, I'm pretty happy with the stock exhaust - but I think I'd be happier if it was, like, 10% louder. But I've refrained from sinking bucks into exhaust because the variation in options is so huge. And frankly, I don't want a raspy, noisy exhaust. I'd like a low-throated rumbling gurgle, like classic 60s V8s.
Some time ago, it was offered to me by a member here that what I might want is a resonator delete. I finally had the opportunity to hear one briefly yesterday, and it sounded like the 10% I have been looking for. However, I did not have the opportunity to listen for long, or while it was actually being driven.
So - from those that have done so, can you give me your longer-term impressions of a resonator delete - and what you used, x-pipe or h-pipe. Are you happy with it? Is there any drone? What does it alter in the exhaust note? What are your impressions at various speeds and other conditions? How much is the change in volume?
I've researched this topic on this board to death. Things like this are impossible to discern listening to Youtube videos, as much as I appreciate the effort that folks have put into making the videos. So I'm looking for opinions.
Much appreciated if you resonator delete folks could chime in.
Cheers
