So- my first post; initially happy to announce that my many months ago ordered 2017 GT350 is due to arrive somewhere in the next weeks, only to find out that an exterior refresh will be revealed shortly for 2018...always have I refrained from buying 'new' vehicles, and this is once of the reasons. Perhaps a useless post, but nonetheless needed to share my frustration.

I'll post here in any case once the powerplant arrives!

Orly?? Where did you hear that from? And 350 included? But but but... it cannot be!! :eyebulge:

The internet says there will be no more GT350s for MY2018! :headbonk:

You know... from some who know some at Ford... or a collector who spoke to so & so, etc. :ninja:

We shall see.... :D

There is supposed to be a refresh for the non Shelby mustangs and there is an expected NEW Shelby GT500 for 2018. But I highly doubt any refresh for the GT350

Whatever car you but will usually have better options, upgrades, or refreshes. Buy what you want, otherwise you'll always be waiting for the next best thing.

This is what I was thinking/hoping. I'm in the same boat, just ordered my 2017 350. Because the 350 body was designed to be aerodynamically functional, I really can't see Ford changing it just because...maybe new headlights/taillights but that's about it. My main worry is that they will refresh the engine with Direct Injection, but I'm hoping they hold off on that until the gen 7. At the end of the day, the car is going to be an amazing & beautiful machine so who cares what they do to it for 2018...if they do anything. There is something kind of special in having the original design of a car that is as groundbreaking as the 350 is

The good thing about a refresh is that usually the parts are interchangeable, as they mostly only include bumpers and other cosmetic items.

I'll drop you another piece of info too... the whole car will be entirely redesigned in 2021 for the S650 platform. :O

Better wait until then!

nobody (publicly) knows....
Publicly? Or you mean published? Myself and I believe many on this forum have been told by various members of FP that there is no 2018 GT350. Take it for what its worth. I personally was told by FP marketing Manager when dealing with my order debacle on my order back in December 2015.

Conversely, some of those Ford execs and upper Mgt/Mkt folks recently have not ruled out a MY2018 GT350 offering... as recent as in Pebble Beach a few weeks ago. In separate discussions w/ different clientele too... therefore nothing is concrete in stone or official so at this point everything is conjecture. No one in this forum knows the definitive answer. That's why I also keep on stating... "we'll see" because we will all see sooner or later.

I agree whether we'll see an '18 GT350 is up in the air. But IF there is one, I highly doubt they facelift the front end in any way since it's bespoke to the model. If the S550 gets a rear-end refresh, then it might get that but overall I think a MY18 would be mostly carryover.

Another thing that wouldn't surprise me regarding an S550 facelift is that the GT350 front-end becomes standard on all Mustangs. Probably not with the splitter bits, but the general look and lower hood. This happened last generation. All Mustangs for '13 and '14 received a fascia very similar to the '10-'12 GT500.

You don’t want to know
If you always wait for next year, all of a sudden you'll find out you're dead - without having had any fun along the way.

My thoughts, for what they're worth.......if.....IF there's a GT350 for the '18MY, it'd be a carry over from '17 with no changes.

With the rumoured GT500 on the horizon ('19MY?) I can see Ford wanting to meet GT350 demand with another model year.......but I can't see them tooling up for any changes for a single year.
