Well, I'm guessing the best option is to upgrade if you manage to grenade the standard gearbox. After driving the car in a spirited fashion this Summer, I'm not really concerned at all. If I track it, I'll wait for Fall.
For me, the best option is still an external pump. I want to be able to turn the pump on and off.

I'm still holding out hope that Ford / Ford Performance will help the tech/base owners in some way that isn't apparent yet. I feel my car needs a transmission and rear diff oil cooler to run on the track. The transmission replacement really isn't necessary and would be the high buck option. Hopefully by next spring there will be a better and more affordable option.

I have to say I am very disappointed in Ford and Ford Performance right now. It would be a lot better if they would tell us exactly what they are planning to do. However I feel they could be playing a waiting game. Some people will sell, some people will install their own solution, some people will pay big bucks to have their local dealer install whatever is available now.. Then by the time the final information and solution comes out, Ford / Ford Performance will have something decent to offer the small number of 2016 owners that still need help.

That's interesting because I can buy the Shelby Trans with oil pump from my local Ford Dealer for about $3625. Now there is a $1000 Core charge that may or may not be refundable with a non oil pump Trans but the OEM one is #FR3Z7003D
Is that a special deal because you buy a lot of parts from them or is that the normal price of the OEM transmission? If the transmission is that much cheaper just under a different part number - that's pretty crappy.

If ford performance is not going to warranty what ever they may come up with why not just go a custom solution?

If its just a collection of parts can't you get that from their existing systems they use for parts ordering?

I think the question is whether Ford thinks they owe you guys a solution or not I'm sure they have to get approval to work on products which include the potential market for anything they develop

I've been considering the future of this transmission. It was only used in a small number of GT350 and Ford is no longer using the "non-cooled" version. Is this transmission used in any other vehicles out there?

Will I be able to find a replacement down the road or is someone going to have to sell me the cooled version and then all the extra parts?

Well, Ford may not think they "owe" me a solution and I don't feel I "owe" them loyalty.

Even at that price, I'm guessing it is still north of 4k just for the transmission/cooler parts install and we haven't even started talking about the diff yet.

^This, I didn't expect to be given anything, but I also didn't expect to basically be ignored either. Especially after conversations with people at my dealer who are just as surprised as I am how this is going down.

They may not owe us anything. But, this is the second Ford Performance car I've purchased and if they want me to buy a third........I'd like to see that they care about their reputation and their customers. They could at least pretend a little harder. ;)

It's been used in the Cadillac for several model years. Tremec Aftermarket I'm sure will release it as soon as the contract expires with Ford/GM. There is a huge market for this transmission in the aftermarket.

Finding replacements will not be an issue in the future. The price will drop if anything.

The Tech Pack cars have the ability to turn on the virtual gauges, that has been covered in the other thread.
Which "other thread"? I've searched, but can't find a post about how to turn on a transmission oil temperature virtual gauge in a Tech Pack car.

Whole family has been loyal to Ford despite some troubles, buying a new car for my son in a few weeks. I am now positive it will no longer be a focus or fusion. I cant ignore the poor service, support, or dealer network any longer. I only buy new cars every year or so but eventually this kind of shit gets old. Ford trucks used to dominate here, Now its shocking to see how many new Chevys are driving around. Ford is lucky Chevy shit the bed on the Camaro price / design. With quality issues and the lack of support Ford has made it clear to me they are not yet ready to take on the mantle of a top tier vehicle.

They cant even keep the oil filters tight.

I need to raise the car tonight and do an oil change. I'll look at the existing harness to see if there may be a plugin for the Diff sensor. Since we can program that gauge to show on the dash, it would be nice to get it working. A sensor and connection should be relatively cheap, even if I have to make it myself. My motivation is limited since I have a temp gauge connected now.
Hey Dave,
Apologies for the impatience but were you able to do some digging for the differential harness? If so, what did or didn't you find?
Thanks, appreciate anything you can offer.

It sucks though as there is not really anywhere else to go. Nobody really gets the whole package right from fun/track functioning car to service to reliability IMO.

Lexus has the service and reliability, but are obviously lacking in the fun department.

BMW is overpriced, uninspiring now and their service is hit or miss.

Chevy........:headbonk: enough said.

Anyway, I'm not really brand loyal, but the first auto maker that can get it all right will have me as a customer for life. Assuming they could keep it up.

Rant over.

I may not be brand loyal; but I may be a brand preferrer and mostly a brand avoider if the brand deserves it.
