Brian,

This fuse panel is from a Shelby without factory coolers correct?

The left arrow is pointing to the 20AMP fuse present that powers the rear diff pump and the bottom arrow is pointing at the Relay that drives the pump....that is not on a Tech Car.

I am very Curious if they are using the same parts for both cars and the harnesses are already in the car. With the limited numbers it may have been cheaper and simpler to make one Shelby Dist. Box instead of two.

I believe all 3.73 equipped Mustangs 2016+ have a rear differnential sensor. GT's will give a center stack warning to slow down for over temp. All Shelby's have a transmission and rear axle virtual gauge unless my information is incorrect.

Your information is not correct. The Tech Pack cars do not have a differential sensor. The port for the sensor is on the bottom left side of the rear case for the differential, and it is an empty threaded hole. I have installed my differential gauge sensor in the factory location for the gauge I added to my car.

That is very interesting, so Ford monitors it in a regular S550 with 3.73's and not the Shelby, yet they monitor transmission temp. So if the transmission causes limp mode the rear axle will never get hot enough to worry about so no need to monitor it. I am now more curious if the parameters are set so Limp Mode is easily reached in the Tech Package.

So do Tech Pack cars have the virtual gauges? or is that only on Track Pack / R's?

The Tech Pack cars have the ability to turn on the virtual gauges, that has been covered in the other thread. But the diff gauge will come up blank because there is no sensor or circuit. The Transmission gauge works great once you turn it on. By all reports, limp mode is activated at about 280 degrees on the transmission.

This question seems obvious but...has anybody checked for the factory relay for the trans pump for the transmission, or the wiring being present for the factory diff sensor?

Stock system uses a mechanical pump.

I know the stock trans pump is an internal mechanical pump (track package), are you saying the diff is mechanical too? Would someone have to replace the entire diff to get the "stock" cooler and pump?

The transmission is mechanical, rear is electric.

I've owned several new Fords in my adult life. If Ford leaves this problem to me to fix on my own with no support from them. I will never buy a new ford product again in my life.

I alternate new cars between me a my wife and I also have 3 kids coming to driving age. That a lot of cars that will need to be bought in the next few years.
I called Ford Performance again 8/29. First thing they asked me was if I was calling about a trans replacement or the external cooler. I asked how the external trans cooler was coming and the rep said they were working on the pump with no time frame. I asked him how much a trans swap would be and he got a little nervous as he tried to look it up and then said he couldn't find a price. Finally I ask him if he was sure they were working on a cooler fix and he said yes. Same old thing month after month.

Seems like they think if they keep kicking the can down the road; people will stop caring about the fix.

I've only got a 36 month warranty so if I fix it myself next summer, I won't be giving up too much of it.

Thanks for the update TC. Whole situation is BS...A Shelby that can't keep up w a GT...Nice way to respect the name.

Would anyone have the Ford part numbers for the stock diff sensor, stock wiring harness, stock relay or anything else we would need for a Tech to be able to monitor the diff temp like we can now do for trans temps (thanks to Epiphany and mattlqx)? Would be nice to have the info...
Thanks

Ford Performance says the transmission with the pump is available now. It's just the track pack / R transmission with the mechanical pump incorporated. They said retail is $4,800 and dealers will sell it for less. I'm local to Autonation White Bear Lake Ford and they estimated $4,000 for the transmission. Then the cooler and brackets and lines are still needed. And it needs to get installed into the car.

Ford Performance also said "the transmission has no warranty, like many of the parts we sell."

I also got the news that the cooler parts list is still being finalized and that assembly is not available yet. There's going to be an option to add those parts to the car and select an aftermarket pump. I'm not sure whether they will help with wiring or that's up to us as well.
