:lol:Personally... I don't care how much faster a Camaro is. It looks like dog shi* and I wouldn't be caught driving those hot wheels cars.
Tell us how you reeeally feel??

It didn't spank anything, it was only a little over a second faster than the car with over 200lbs additional weight. Now everyone is thinking the ZL1 won't beat it? It will maybe 100 lbs more than the R but have over 100hp and over 200 lb-ft torque more... I would fully expect it to be faster; one thing Chevy does great is chassis tuning, fully expect it to be faster on track. Too many die hards just discredit other cars capabilities because they don't like them. The small block 5.2L/315cid GT350 Mustang spanked the big block turd 7.0L/427cid Z28 Camaro last time around. LOL
They are really boring engines and belong in a truck or station wagon.Agree the camaro just isn't a looker IMO, but there is really nothing bad that can be said about their engines; they're great.
I agree they don't have as great of character; it is why I am purchasing an R and not a Z06. But to say they are boring? I would believe you may not have spent much time in a new Stingray... boring is the last word I would use. Deep idle, explosive power everywhere, burbles and cracks on deceleration... boring is not what I would use lolThey are really boring engines and belong in a truck or station wagon.
Lol!!!what? After years of explaining that there is no cooling issues on the C7 Z06 they fix what was already fixed?
looooool.
Isn't the corvette the car that had a couple different engines fail during magazine tests?proven durability.
Was the 5.2 CPC crate engine ever confirmed though in regards to power output? I would find it difficult to believe that switching back to a less efficient design (cross plane vs flat plane) that they would or even could eek out another 50hp. :shrug:Yeah, the ZL1 will beat it for a lap or two unless no heat issues. With all that extra power you'd think the ZL1 would kill the R but i bet it isnt much more than 1 second faster. Stang needs more power. The CPC 5.2 crate engine makes over 570hp and around 500 torque. I wouldnt doubt the spy shot car a few days ago had this engine in it. Maybe the mach 1.
Yes that happened, but there was an issue with that particular car that caused repeated failures until they solved the actual issue. There were numerous cases of that type in the early production vehicles, but have lessened significantly since then.Isn't the corvette the car that had a couple different engines fail during magazine tests?
On edit: I guess I'm confusing reliability with durability. Two different things, right?

To say it is the same basic engine is purely foolish. Sure it has the same general design, but today's engine has direct injection, cylinder deactivation, etc, all modern technologies.Chevy using the same basic pushrod/2 valve engine design since 1955. That is why the Ford 5.2L makes over 100hp per litre for 526hp and the Chevy 7.0L only makes 505hp and not the 700+ that it should make if it was a modern hi-tech engine. Look a 7.0L flathead engine could make 500hp
